Uniquely situated on the banks of Portree Bay, with fantastic views of Portree and the Old Man of Storr. The house provides very high standard to offer an exceptionally comfortable and spacious holiday home. The sunny, bright rooms are beautifully decorated and the main rooms enjoy magnificent views of the Loch Portree, hills and coastline There is a large garden and games room with pool and table tennis.
Heatherfield Lodge has large lounge with feature window overlooking Portree Bay, Dining/Kitchen, 3 bedrooms, one with a kingsize bed, one with a double and one twin. Cot and High Chair available. Heaven on earth!
Our first time on Skye was made even better by the brilliant Heatherfield Lodge.
The communication from the owners was top notch and we had clear instructions for our arrival. The house itself is massive inside and more than enough for two people. The new bathroom is lovely and the place feels like a home from home. Waking every morning to the views across the bay towards Portree and the old man were magical.
Location is excellent as you are only a 10 minute drive away from Portree for restaurants, supermarket and a petrol station. As a base for exploring the island, it's also top notch, especially for Storr, staffin, kilt rock etc.
Overall, we absolutely loved our stay here and will definitely return in the future.

Amazing house, amazing views!
We stayed at Heatherfield Lodge 7th-14th August 2021 and we had such a fantastic time! The house is absolutely lovely, with everything catered for. It was comfortable and clean and the views were breathtaking. The views were everchanging and we really enjoyed sitting at the windows and in the garden and just relaxing in the beauty. We paddle boarded down on the water from the shore, below the house, and did many local walks. The house feels private and removed from everything, whilst being only minutes from Portree. The games room was a particular draw. The whole family spent many evening playing pool and table tennis. To name a few activities…We took a rib boat out from Portree and saw sea eagles, visited Staffa beach and saw the dinosaur footprints, walked the Quirang, Stor, swam at Fairy pools, fished off Neist point and actually saw two Orca!! There is so much to do and see locally and Heatherfield lodge was a perfect place to be based. Thank you for the hospitality we loved it and would highly recommend. The only tiny thing missing was a pair of oven gloves and scissors in the kitchen.

Great location
Brilliant views especially looking across on to Portree. The grandchildren loved the freedom. It was an ideal location for travelling round the Portree area.

Absolute gem in a beautiful location
Stayed in the house for a week, beautiful views, especially since it was autumn. Easy drive into Portree, to be honest the ride was so picturesque it didn’t feel long at all. The house was spacious, clean and very cosey. We will be coming back!

Had an amazing stay here, the house is spacious and in a great location. The views are just beautiful and made the stay extra special. Would definitely recommend to anyone but especially families.

Very good location, spacious.
Pros - great location, fantastic views, very spacious. My view is that these pros out weigh the cons which I have mentioned below.
Cons - I have listed my opionion of cons, but note these would not be so bad I wouldn’t stay again.
I was disappointed that the house was very cold when we arrived about 5pm and we had to go around turning on the heat and hot water, as this was not programmed to come on until 6.30pm. It took a long time for the water to get hot enough for a bath. The house is generally a bit worn and pillows need replacing. Note that you have to self calculate and pay for electricity in cash on departure. This was a new one for me (and I have stayed in many holiday rentasls in the UK and across the globe). This is disclosed, however, and I acknowledge it is my own fault for not noticing on booking. My personal view is this is a negative - I was very unsure what this extra would equate to and had to make sure we had the right change to leave - a real nuisance. I would prefer the owner to just include the charge in the rent as the majority of owners do. The other major negative is the smell from the boiler in the games room made it a very unpleasant place to be, and as it was also very cold we did not use it at all. Other reviewers rave about the games room, so I was surprised.

We are glad you had a good week at Heatherfield Lodge.
As you indicate, our Website and T&C’s clearly state that Heating and Hot Water are included in the tariff and we only charge for electricity, the charge is at the standard SSE unit rate and is usually £5-£15 for the week. The reason we charge for electricity is due to the fact some groups do not use much electricity and others use the washing machine and tumble dryer a lot. We have very competitive pricing, averaging out the electric charges would impact small groups and low electric users and that is why the charge is separate. However, we will look at including electricity in next year’s rental prices.
I am a bit surprised regarding the pillow, as pillows were replaced at the start of the year but we will check them all and replace any required.

Fantastic base for exploring Skye
We stayed at Heatherfield Lodge for a week in April with our two children aged 9 and 12 and had a wonderful time. The location of the lodge is just fantastic, with beautiful views over Portree Bay and looking up at The Storr. We were lucky to have this view from the master bedroom and the living room and loved waking up to it every day.
The house was so comfortable and well equipped, and felt like home. It is such a short distance from the town of Portree so was really handy and a great base for exploring the rest of beautiful Skye. Would highly recommend.

A weeks munro bagging
This fantastic house has amazing views, lots of space, everything you need and is only 30 minutes away from the Cullin ridge, for all our munro bagging needs.
The house is very cosy and clean and was perfect for our small group of hill walkers. The ping pong table is an excellent added touch as many hours in the evenings were spent having 'tournaments'.
The location is just outside of Portree so the area is not busy, so the 10 min drive to the shops is not too bad at all.
All in all i would recommend anybody who wishes to go to Skye to stay here.

Liebevoll gemütlich und komfortabel
Ein recht grosses Zimmer mit modernstem Bad und Sitzecke ist für ein BnB außergewöhnlich. Man wird wärmstens empfangen und Barbara hat bereits einen kleinen Kuchen bereit gestellt. Mit der Aussicht über Portree Hafen und bei gutem Wetter auf den Old Man of Storr kann man sehr gut den Tag starten.
Das Frühstück kann man sich jeden Tag neu zusammenstellen. Bis auf Baked Beans fehlt nichts. Es gibt eine kleine Teeküche mit Kaffee und Tee, Obst steht immer bereit. Das Bad ist modern und sauber. WLAN ist eine Herausforderung und sehr langsam.
Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!!!

Six go to the Island of Adventure.
Five chums and I stayed in Heatherfield Lodge for a week incorporating the beautiful sights of Skye alongside the rather splendid music festival and we were exceedingly lucky with all three.
The Lodge is fantastic and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. It's clean, bright and spacious and the games room was an added bonus. The views are just as every other review describes - spectacular and ever changing.
We messaged the owners about a couple of queries - wifi and recycling and were responded to very quickly and courteously.
Also, I gather, the extra days made available to those we left behind were very much appreciated to sooth their weary souls, feet, ears and liver.
The location is good - it's a short taxi ride into Portree and we used Gus's taxis throughout the festival. How Michael the taxi driver managed it, I have no idea. The man is marvellous and must have worked 3 days solid and yet was always pleasant and polite.
Overall we had lashes of ginger beer, fun and jolly japes and Heatherfield Lodge was the perfect house to have a holiday.
