Strontian, Lochaber, Scottish Highlands, Scotland
Glenhurich Lodge is located in the small peaceful hamlet of Polloch that lies between scenic Loch Doilet and the unspoilt Loch Shiel. A traditional Highland lodge set in in an acre of mature gardens and surrounded by one of the few areas of true wilderness that remain in Scotland. It is something special and just a little different from the norm. This is the perfect location for those seeking tranquility in the Scottish countryside. Inside, the house has been carefully and comfortably furnished.

While it was a challenge to get there (lots of single-track roads) it was worth the journey. The cottage itself was beautiful and clean, with plenty of room for at least 11 people. Upon arrival it was fully stocked with towels, extra bedding, toilet roll,...More

Having recently stayed at Glenhurich Lodge I felt the need to pen a review. The Lodge itself was amazing. Perfect for a group of friends, or 2 families. I did not have the family with me on this occasion but I'm certain the children would...More

About the neighbourhood
Glenhurich Lodge is a wonderful escape. Close at hand are many outdoor pursuits, including walking, cycling, climbing, fishing (river, loch and sea), bird-watching, canoeing and star gazing on clear nights. A 'walk on the wild side'' starts at the front door and there are wonderful walks to be enjoyed in the surrounding glens and hills, ranging from leisurely Lochside walks to stiff climbs to gain the magnificent views of Lochs and mountains from the ridges.

Those interested in the local fauna will find this a perfect paradise. Deer (red, roe, fallow and muntjac), pine martins, wild cats, foxes, red squirrels and badgers roam the woodlands with otters along the watercourses. Bird lovers will find themselves in heaven, because in addition to many song birds, buzzards, osprey, e...

How to get there
From Corran Ferry travel along the A861 to Strontian. Travel through the village and continue over the River Strontian bridge, turning immediately right onto the unclassified single track road signposted Bellsgrove and Polloch. Veer left at the junction marked for Ariundle, signposted Polloch Crafts. Continue on this road for approximately 7 miles over the hill to Glenhurich. At the bottom of the hill you are at the East end of Loch Doilet and you will see wheelie bins for the two cottages there. TURN LEFT at the bins and carry on along the side of Loch Doilet, passing over the metal bridge at the West end of the Loch. Glenhurich Lodge is not far past this bridge and is the first building on the RIGHT HAND SIDE of the public road at Polloch.
