Knockinaam House is a modern spacious house and provides luxury accommodation for 8 guests in 4 bedrooms. Ground floor accommodation comprises of kitchen, lounge with open fire, additional lounge with french windows, dining area with French windows leading to paved patio, utility & wc. Upstairs - 3 double bedrooms (1 en-suite) and 1 twin room, family bathroom, shower room. It is situated in open countryside with wonderful views overlooking farmland and the sea in the distance. It is a 5 minute drive from the picturesque fishing village of Portpatrick and 10 minutes from Stranraer and Sandhead. It is the ideal location for either families or a group of friends who enjoy peace and quiet. (nearest neighbours 1/2 mile away)

Our family all loved the house, the great location and the surrounding area. The house was spacious and had everything we needed. A fantastic place to stay and explore and a great place to watch and listen to the local wildlife. The welcome pack was greatly appreciated, thank you.

A perfect house for a calming and peaceful break
A fabulous house in a peaceful and secluded location surrounded by countryside and just a short stroll to the sea. The house is a great size which means everyone can do their own thing or come back together for meals and relaxing in the lounge. The location is fab only 10 mins from Portpatrick and 15 mins from Stranraer which means it's great for exploring the surrounding areas. The house has everything you could want - a real home from home. We have stayed several times now and have already booked our next visit. We love it!

Knockinaam House
This was my second visit to Knockinaam House, but the first visit for my four sisters. They absolutely loved it. So well equipped and so comfortable. We all slept really well. There is so much room that we could spread out to read or play games. The kitchen is an amazing size so if we were cooking we didn't get under each other's feet. The location is great for walking and to access all attractions around. We even walked in the woods for a few hours which is very close to the house. We had deer, hares and a fox in the garden which was amazing and got some great photographs. I would certainly recommend Knockinaam House which is ideal for large families or families who wish to holiday together. We are definitely going to visit again. Our hosts Elspeth and Hugh are lovely. If we needed anything we only had to call and it was sorted. Great holiday.

Our week in Knockinaam House & Port Patrick
We had a fabulous time. The house is beautifully appointed, clean and huge. The views are stunning with the wild deer always coming across the fields to say hello along with all the farm animals. Port Patrick is only a short drive away and its a fabulous little fishing port with lots going on. We loved it as did our grandchildren

Early Spring Holiday
Beautiful house, just what we were looking for. Great panoramic views, quiet and peaceful with an abundance of wildlife to watch outside. Large rooms with plenty of space and the kitchen and utility were extremely well equipped. Great location for beach walks, visiting gardens and of course Portpatrick itself. Booked direct with Elspeth which was quick and simple and good directions were sent in-advance. I would imagine that the house would be beautiful in the Summer having a drink on the elevated veranda but we enjoyed the Spring sunshine and snow, flora and fauna.

Knockinaam House
We visited Knockinaam House on June 10th 2023 for a week. What a beautiful house. So much room, really well equipped and so comfortable. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of fluffy pillows. The views from the house are amazing and it was so quiet it was very relaxing. We were very lucky with the weather, very hot, so spent quite a lot of time on the very large patio. Everything was in easy reach Port Patrick, Port Logan, Sandhead, Stranraer and the Mull of Galloway. Would recommend a visit to all these places. Elspeth and Hugh are great hosts and if anything is needed it is sorted immediately. We have stayed at another house owned by Elspeth and Hugh, Helensdale and that was very comfortable too with stunning views across the Bay. We were so impressed with Knockinaam House that we are returning for another week at the end of September. Would highly recommend this house.

Idyllic Retreat
We had yet another fantastic break at Knockinaam House. It is beautifully situated outside of Portpatrick in the countryside and is perfect for a group looking to secure some peace and quiet or a base to explore the surrounding area either on foot or by car. The house is well equipped and provides an excellent base. We will be visiting again later this year.

Perfect property for our family mini break
Having stayed previously at another of the owner's properties, our expectations of Knockinaam House were certainly met. Bags of space (important for 2 young children!), very high standard of facilities, private and very comfortable. It's also in a good location for viisiting attractions in the area. My five year old niece said the house was the best thing about our mini holiday! Hope we can visit again soon - would certainly recommend.

Knockinaam House, Portpatrick
Absolutely amazing House and hosts. Well finished and equipped with amazing views out to landscape and Irish Sea.
Extremely comfortable beds and dog friendly.
Lovely walks down to bay for some seal watching and close to the beautiful village of Portpatrick.
Can highly recommend to all.

Knockinaam House Stay
What a beautiful house. Party of 7 with everyone having compliments about space and bedrooms. Views are breathtaking and Portpatrick only a short drive away.Walks from the door did the coastal walk off road one day approx 4 miles brilliant! Hoping to get back to this house again.Hosts were very friendly and shortbread and tablet were a very nice gesture on arrival

Knockinaam is located on the Rhins peninsula - a finger of land, surrounded by the sea on 3 sides - stretching from Stranraer to Mull of Galloway (the most southernly point in Scotland)the peninsula has a varying and enchanting range of coastal features from sandy Beaches on the East Coast ie. Sandhead which has 7 miles of sand to a variety of cliffs, rocks and sandy coves on the West, the most famous of which are the delightful village of Port Logan and the picturesque fishing village of Portpatrick.
Knockinaam is situated in open countryside with wonderful views of the surrounding farmland and the sea beyond
The Southern Upland Way begins in Portpatrick and hugs the coast before heading for the hills of New Luce. There is also a new coastal path (opened 2012) from Stranraer to Mull of Galloway. Portpatrick is only a 5 minute drive away with it's good variety of restaurants and pubs
The climate here is warmed by the Gulf Stream and all the attractions of the area are easily accessible. The area is home to numerous gardens including Logan Botanical, Logan House, Ardwell, Castle Kennedy, Dunskey, Glenwhan.
