Gwenoldy (Swallows' Rest in Welsh) is a luxurious cottage, converted from an 18th century stone-built barn. Its setting is spectacular, with glorious views across a secluded valley.<BR><BR>We are in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and enjoy a wonderfully peaceful lifestyle.<BR><BR>Gwenoldy offers every comfort, from a woodburning stove to broadband internet access, for up to four people. Children are welcome.<BR><BR>Snowdonia, Chester and the North Wales beaches are close at hand, and local amenities include excellent pubs serving good food, a crafts and antique centre with a popular restaurant, and many country shops and sporting venues.

This was our second visit to Gwenoldy and we highly anticipated the same high standard as our previous visit. However, we felt that there were a few finishing touches missing this time. The cottage wasn't as clean as we would have expected and the welcome cake was so badly burnt that it was inedible. We were a little disappointed as...

We enjoyed our week so very much! Gwenoldy is the most comfortable cottage: well equipped, a lovely greeting cake and wine in the fridge, fabulous views, very relaxing and an excellent location for exploring very interesting things: the owner provides a book with superb suggestions "the 5 best of" gardens, castles, beeches, restaurant ... - all nearby.
