Criccieth, Gwynedd, North Wales, Wales
Croeso i Danrhiw - Welcome to Tanrhiw, our charming holiday cottage in the centre of Criccieth, famed for it's castle in a stunning location on the Lleyn Peninsula near the majestic mountains of Snowdonia in north west Wales.

The recently renovated centrally heated cottage is available for holiday lets and is only a short stroll from the beach, castle and high street in Criccieth.

The stunning Lleyn Peninsula rolls out into the Irish Sea off the north west corner of Wales. Much of the surrounding coastline and hills are part of a designated area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. To the east is the Snowdonia National Park, with attractions for all weathers.

A car is not essential, but advisable. There is no parking immediately outside the property but within 10 metres there are about 10 parking spaces and 'pot luck' on the str...

Might even be the 4th trip, lovely cottage, cosy, dog friendly, characteristic. 2 mins walk to beach and it's down hill so makes it easier. Open fire gives cottage effect, coal and kindle wood gets it started. Shops nearby for milk, bread, alcohol, the essentials. Car parking spaces across road, never had an issue with getting a parking spot. Trusting...

My wife and myself have stayed in this cottage three times now, It is well positioned in the centre of the town with lovely views of the castle and sea from the lounge/dining room. It has been well equipped by the owners who we have found to be helpful and friendly. The cottage is surprisingly very light and airy for...

About the neighbourhood
Tanrhiw is located at the centre of Criccieth, within easy walking distance of the shops, places to eat, takeaways, the castle, the town's two beaches and the railway station. The railway line runs behind the cottage, but only about twelve trains pass each day with the last before 11pm in the evening.

Criccieth is often described as 'the pearl of Wales on the shores of Snowdonia' - and they're not wrong! The view as you enter the town on the A497 from Porthmadog has been said to rival views over Naples. All very high accolades for a resort which enjoys a mild climate and still retains a strong Welsh charm too!

The town is often very successful in the yearly Britain in Bloom competitions and the Criccieth Festival and visiting fairs are growing in popularity.
