About the neighbourhood
Ruthin, an ancient market town, lies in the stunning Vale of Clwyd close to both an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a World Heritage Site. The town itself, clustering round the medieval castle, has exclusive shops, friendly pubs and cafés, and good restaurants. The area is a firm favourite with walkers, cyclists and mountain bikers. Within easy reach are lovely beaches, castles and visitor attractions, heritage and narrow-gauge railways, and plenty of family-friendly activities. For adrenaline junkies, North Wales is the acknowledged Adventure Capital of Europe!
Getting around
Roads are generally quiet here in north east Wales, following historic routes through pretty villages and beautiful countryside, with breathtaking views over every summit. A car is the best mode of transport, but regular bus services traverse the region. Travel from the Midlands and north west, including international airports, is straightforward via the M53/M6 and M56. The nearest main line train stations are at Chester (25 miles) and Rhyl (18 miles).
