Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

Second time around
This was our second stay in the plucking barn, still as welcoming, warm and spotless as previous year We were 4 adults and 3 setters, there is plenty of space available and we didn’t feel at all crowded Lots of local walks for dogs and great beaches for running everyone came back from trips ready for a rest Good cooking facilities for reheating the meals we brought and good eating out places also available close by I am sure we will be back soon

Yet another amazing stay
We can’t shout about this place loud enough. We have just come back from a week in The Barn and it was an amazing holiday. It is so peaceful there and you are close to so many gorgeous parts of West Wales. Claire and Andrea are so welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The Barn itself is spacious and so clean. It is is upstairs living so you can sit in the lounge or on the balcony and just get lost in the beautiful views that surround you. Everything you could possibly need is there including a lovely outdoor sitting are large downstairs. Plenty of lovely safe outdoor space for our dog too evil loves it there!!! Thank you. We can’t wait to come back!!

Could not recommend
The barn is in a nice part of the world at a good location with lovely views all around. It is in a good position to drive to the coast, surrounding towns or the mountains. The barn itself is warm and comfortable and everything that you need is catered for. There is a welcome pack on arrival. However there was an issue with the property that we felt was dealt with inappropriately. We had contacted Claire by phone because she and her partner were "out and about". She made it quite clear that they were not available 24/7. We don't expect anyone to be available at all times but she felt it necessary to make this point twice in the same conversation. When we saw her a few days later and referred to our conversation she indicated that she hadn't liked our attitude on the phone and we had been unreasonable. She also told us that had we read some written instructions in the property then the issue in question would never have arisen. On further investigation it transpired that there weren't any instructions and she therefore had to apologise for this oversight. After further words on the subject we couldn’t come to an amicable agreement on how the whole situation had been handled so we had to agree to disagree. The incident was upsetting and spoilt our time there. On a separate issue the dishwasher tray kept collapsing which meant the dishes didn’t clean properly. Apparently the machine is due to be changed. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony watching the birds at the feeding station which was situated a few feet away from the barn and just behind the glamping pod. It also attracted some rodents that were quite a bit bigger than mice and had long tails. As it is in the countryside one has to expect all types of nature. However, we made sure that we kept our door closed.

Excellent accommodation and facilities
We stayed for 3 nights in May with our 6 month old puppy Millie. The barn was ideal in every way and fully equipped for a very comfortable holiday. There is plenty of room for a puppy crate, mat and toys. The views are lovely and there is an enclosed paddock for dogs to exercise in safety. A very nice welcome pack was included. Claire was very helpful and we met her two dogs. We can recommend this place and hope to return before too long. Lots of dog friendly beaches and pubs too. We ate two nights in the excellent Pepper Pot in New Quay and had a good lunch at Copper Quay.

Amazing barn!
Managed to get a last minute break away at the Plucking Barn with the family including three dogs. The welcome we received from Claire & Andrea was wonderful, with lovely touches of both human and dog treats! The barn itself has some stunning views of Wales and had everything you could need for a lovely stay away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life! Little touches like the availability of games for the family (indoor and outdoor) plus DVD's added to the experience. The paddock was a great place to get the dogs out and expending some energy on a lazy day, when we weren't exploring the beautiful Welsh coastline. Would absolutely recommend the Plucking Barn for any families looking to escape day to day life for a few days!

Just absolutely amazing
Not sure where to start but WOW what an amazing place to stay. The barn is just perfect and wonderful inside. Luckily for us the weather has been unbelievable and sitting on the balcony looking at the amazing views is worth the trip alone. We booked here as soon as we read the reviews, saw the photos and more importantly found out about the enclosed dog paddock which our 3 springers love. Its probably the best, safest and biggest area we've seen for where the dogs can have a great time while on holiday. The utility block literally has everything in it. The amount of books, dvd's, games etc as well is awesome. Everything is clean, tidy and well looked after. A lot of our holidays we have actually considered or gone home a day early, but that wont be happening here. We needed the rest and relaxation and we've certainly had it while staying here. 10/10

And I think to myself...
What a wonderful world... Just back from an amazing stay in Wales. The Barn is so spacious and clean with literally everything you could need for a break away in a hidey-hole nestled amongst the hills and glorious landscape of mid-Wales. The hosts, Claire and Andrea, are superb and we're able to give some great local food spots and nearby places to visit. There is a utility building full of games, DVDs and books, which we did utilise due to a spot of overzealous British drizzle... We will definitely be returning and are already looking forward to our next adventures in the area 😊

Fantastic
We stayed here with our dog for two nights in September, we only wish we had longer. The accomodation is brilliant, very modern, comfortable and very clean. The views from the balcony were great, lots of Red Kites flying overhead. Take binoculars! Great hosts, we were made to feel very welcome and as such we have recommended this holiday letting to friends.

Excellent accommodation.
We arrived at the Barn to a very friendly welcome from the new owners Claire and Andrea. The little extra gifts of chocolate and wine left for us was a lovely gesture. The barn was very clean and tidy and well equipped. The views from the balcony are stunning. We didn't get to do any sight seeing as were staying at the barn to attend a wedding but I would recommend the Barn and will definitely go back again, this time for a longer holiday.
