Ysgubor is part of a unique group of cottages in the quiet hamlet of Tretio, three miles north of the historic city of St David's and a short walk from the magnificent Pembrokeshire Coast Path and beautiful sandy beaches. The cottages has been recently refurbished to the highest Visit Wales 5 star grade, whilst retaining it's wonderful character of oak beams, oak flooring and original stone walls, perfect for relaxing in convivial comfort. There is room for four guests with a cot or put-u-up bed and for two well behaved dogs by prior arrangement.

Perfect holiday in beautiful South Wales in a lovely cottage made extra special by the owners

This is our fifth visit and we love it. Tretio is the perfect location to visit beautiful family beaches and walk or go running around the impressive coast. The cottage is of a very high standard with everything you need. St David's has good shops and if you fancy more shopping Haverfordwest has some great shops. The best part are The Johns who own the cottages. They are so friendly and helpful, they just make our holiday for us.

Fab first holiday

This was our first holiday as a family. My husband my son and I had an amazing time. Honey and Rob were so lovely and friendly and the cottage was more then we could hope for. The decor in the cottage was lovely and it had everything we needed to be able to have an enjoyable holiday with a little one. We got out and managed a lovely walk along the coastal path and had a few trips out to local towns. Really really can't recommend this cottage highly enough. Ohh and thank you again for the amazing cake and fresh eggs on arrival :)

Brilliant holiday in 5 star accommodation!

Ysgubor is in remote countryside a couple of minutes drive from St Davids. The converted barn is next to the owners' home and 3 other holiday cottages. the area is very quiet and peaceful or at least it was until we arrived, (family with children aged 5 and 7). The cottage is very well equipped and there was nothing that we found to be lacking. The children had a twin room on the ground floor with a wet room and the double bedroom is on the first floor with an en-suite shower room. The kitchen and living room are open plan and a good size. It was useful to have a washing machine and full size freezer which I always find useful when self-catering as a family unit. The cottage was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Also on the site is a games barn which the children spent hours in. It has a full size trampoline, snooker table, table football and other smaller games. I don't think enough is made of this facility on the website! It was a massive advantage to us as it meant the children could play safely and without being too far away. Rob and Honey are excellent hosts and made us feel very welcome and were interested to hear where we had been or suggest places for us to visit. Meg the dog became a good friend too although I think she takes a shine to anyone who will play ball with her! The cottage is situated within 10 minutes drive of several beaches. There are plenty of attractions under an hour away including Folly Farm, Oakwood theme park and various parks and museums. We found plenty to occupy us for 2 weeks and would happily have stayed longer. Would I recommend this place - absolutely!

Fab Cottage

Stayed here for 4 nights in October and it was lovely. With a gorgeous homemade cake waiting on arrival in a beautifully converted barn, I would definitely recommend this to anyone. The cottage is surrounded by fields which means it is lovely and tranquil and fab for our excitable springer but is only a very short drive from St. David's and other fishing villages so there is always plenty to do.

Highly recommended

We are a family of four two children aged 10/12 and a dog, we received a warm lovely welcome, with cake and milk in the fridge!! Spacious accommodation, quiet location, games room to entertain children. Would highly recommend... Will defiantly be rebooking!!!

Excellent cottage for walks in the countryside.

We arrived at the cottage in the evening and were welcomed by a lovely sponge cake, milk in the fridge and flowers. The cottage was spotlessly clean, well equipped and nicely furnished. Our friends joined us the next morning. We had a very nice holiday exploring St David's Cathedral and the town. The supermarket was easy to find in New Street (open long hours!) and it was right next to the Catholic Church where we went to Mass at 9 on Sunday morning. (Unfortunately the priest was very uninspiring. Maybe he wasn't well.) Evensong in the Cathedral at 6.30 made up for the disappointing service with beautiful singing, thoughtful sermon and lovely surroundings. We had a very good meal in The Bishop pub on two occasions. We explored the surrounding countryside and the coast walk as far as it was possible on my buggy, but it is possible to borrow large all terrain buggies from places advertised in the local magazine.

Welcoming and relaxing

Lovely welcome with home-made cake, milk and flowers. Cottage was well equipped and cosy with log burning stove, which we had no need for, because we had a cloudless and sunny week!

1st class accomodation

We were welcomed by Meg the dog and beautiful sponge baked by Honey what a great start to our break. We have stayed in various cottages in past but none compares to the high quality of these cottages no expense spared to give you the best comfort possible. Honey and Rob are able to recommend places to visit and also recommend places to eat. There are plenty of walks and leaflets in the cottage if you can be tempted to leave the comfort of the cottage and log burner

Comfortable, clean, spacious, quiet

If you want a cottage that is comfortable, clean, spacious, well equipped and very quiet in a rural setting within a short car ride of the magnificent,Pembrokeshire coastline, this is a good choice for where to stay. There is just one word of caution: one of the two bedrooms, (each with its own bathroom and toilet) is on the first floor, accessed via a more than average number of stairs, this property being an excellent conversion of a tall barn. Whilst ascending these stairs to bed and descending for breakfast may have echoes of a grand country house, disabled folk would find the upstairs accommodation difficult or impossible to access.

Excellent stay in peaceful location

A wonderful cottage, set in a quiet location. Very comfortable and warm with well equipped kitchen. Lots of extras, including cake on arrival with tea and coffee. Quality bedding and towels. If you like to 'get away from it all' then this is the place for you. Nearest beach Whitesands with St Davids a little further. Thank you Honey and Rob for you welcome. Hope to visit again
