About the neighbourhood
Dry Valley in Townsend is a quiet valley surrounded by mountains. It is 3 miles from the main road in Townsend, Hwy. 321. Townsend is a small town with one stoplight, several wonderful restaurants, a Christian-owned coffee shop, outdoor and boutique shops, an art gallery, easy access to hiking, waterfalls, picnic areas, ziplining, bluegrass music, fishing, horseback riding, biking, and river tubing (in summer), only a 20 mile drive to Pigeon Forge, TN and 26 miles to Gatlinburg, both east of Townsend. Maryville to the west is an 18 mile drive. The beautiful Foothills Parkway, Cherohala Skyway (popular with cyclists), and Tail of the Dragon are within close driving distance, as is Cherokee, NC. Come see us and you won't want to leave!
Getting around
You can walk or ride a bike, but we are located approximately 3 miles from 'town,' and the roads are steep and winding! We would recommend a car. However, biking is VERY popular in this area, so bring your bike if you like to ride!
Access
Car advised
How to get there
We are located 20 minutes from Cades Cove, 30 minutes from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, 45 minutes from Knoxville, and 2 hours from Chattanooga!
If you are flying, Knoxville airport (TYS) is a small airport, very simple to navigate. Airlines that fly into TYS are Allegiant, American, Delta, Frontier, and United.
If you are driving, once you get to Townsend, follow the signs to 'Tuckaleechee Caverns' (same name, but different owners). Once you get closer to our property, you will start to also see our signs, 'Tuckaleechee Retreat Center.' We are located approximately 1/4 mile up Bear Lodge Drive, which is 3/10 mile past the Tuckaleechee Caverns.
Once you turn onto Bear Lodge Drive (this is our road, but you are not yet on our property), you will pass a few other houses and...
