We fully enjoyed our stay at Blue Spruce cabin. Although it’s within sight of other cabins, we never saw anyone else outside! The cabin is clean, cosy, and modern. One hot tub indoors and one outside on the deck. Townsend is just minutes away. Because of rain, we didn’t get to hike the trail to the top of the mountain, but I bet the view is great!

Nice getaway for just the two of us.
This was a nice getaway. Very cozy, but perfect for just the two of us. The cabin had a bit of a smell, but you only noticed it upon first coming into the place. The cabin had all the amenities we needed and we were very happy with the place. Only thing is the hot tub was not in working order - it was full but not with warm/hot water (it was colder than the pool water). Did enjoy the indoor tub though. This cabin is just a few minutes outside of Townsend, and super close to Cades Cove. A great quiet and peaceful place for a romantic getaway.

great experience
The cabin was everything that we could have hoped it to be. It was very clean and comfortable and quiet. Townsend had several great family dining facilities.

Could Not Have Liked It Better !
We arrived on Monday and as soon as we got to the cabin, we loved it! Perfect setting on a hillside and the way it is situated is perfect. So quiet with no one bothering you at all. The ride to Cades Cove is only a few miles away. Townsend is the best kept secret of the Smokies. :) We plan on going back to the cabin hopefully next year. :) Loved the outdoor hot and the large indoor jacuzzi tub as well. Cable if you needed it, wifi, all the amenities of home. Thanks so much.

Peacful, quiet, inviting... the PERFECT place to recharge!
Thank you for a wonderful weekend! The cabin was clean, well stocked, cozy and inviting. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. The innkeeper, Ruth White was kind, helpful and welcoming.... thank you for your kindness. We would recommend this cabin or the retreat center to our family and friends and hope to come again many times in the future.

Quiet, peaceful, excellent value
My wife and i spent three nights here June 10-12 and really did enjoy it. It is an older cabin on the grounds of the Tuckaleechee Retreat Center but there didn't seem to be anything going on so it was very peaceful and quiet and comfortable. The hot tub on the deck is definitely hot and was really great after a day of whitewater kayaking and driving from Jonesborough. The manager, Ruth, is very nice and easy to deal with.

About the neighbourhood
This cabin is in Townsend, TN, a peaceful town beside the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, one of the few free national parks in the U.S.!! We are nestled on the side of the mountain, overlooking the beautiful Dry Valley and Rich Mountain, where serenity abounds!
Townsend provides delicious restaurants, several options for river tubing, souvenir shopping, museums, horseback riding, and more! The National Park has endless opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing, picnics, and viewing wildlife. A favorite is the Cades Cove Loop Rd which is 11 miles of scenery and wildlife in its natural habitat.
Just a short 30 minutes away, is Pigeon Forge, home of Dollywood and many fun tourist attractions and shopping options.
Getting around
You can walk or ride a bike, but we are located approximately 3 miles from 'town,' and the roads are steep and winding! We would recommend a car. However, biking is VERY popular in this area, so bring your bike if you like to ride!
