Picture yourself here: a warm, candlelit, aromatic 'Jacuzzi' experience for two… sure to revive, yet relax...nature's way! Let love take over! Romance and serenity nestled in the warmth of the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains ... a cabin beyond exquisite, surrounded by peace, and the wonders of our Creator. You'll find yourself sitting on your spacious balcony awe-stricken at nature while listening to the soothing sounds of the Little River below. Did I mention a stone fire pit out front to cuddle by or roast marshmallows? Ahhhh! 'Refuge' is a 24' x 28' authentic log cabin complete with a tin roof to enjoy that occasional, mid-summer afternoon rain! Situated within walking distance of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park Boundary line and made of white-pine timber with tall cathedral...Picture yourself here: a warm, candlelit, aromatic 'Jacuzzi' experience for two… sure to revive, yet relax...nature's way! Did I mention a stone fire pit out front to cuddle by or roast marshmallows? Ahhhh! 'Refuge' is a 24' x 28' authentic log cabin complete with a tin roof to enjoy that occasional, mid-summer afternoon rain! Situated within walking distance of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park Boundary line and made of white-pine timber with tall cathedral ceilings and exposed beams, this one-room, studio concept cabin has you feeling snug and cuddly. Yet the design with plenty of windows for viewing the woodlands out back gives you a wide-open feeling of being right out there with nature. Next to the candle-lit, romantic Jacuzzi for two awaits your super comfortable king bed complete with feather topper. Should you choose to bring company, they can rest in the sleeping bags or full mattress in the loft area. Can't seem to take a week off without Fido? Well bring him/her along! 'Refuge' is pet friendly .. woof! We simply ask that your pet be old enough to know where to do business and not chew on our stuff. Also, if he/she is allowed on the furniture at home, please bring a couple of throws for the sofa and comforter.. thanks. Oh, and one more thing, these loveable creatures really tend to shed. You are probably used to it, but it makes me sneeze. Would it be too much to ask to pamper the little ball of fur in preparation for vacation and have him/her taken to the vet for a grooming (or at least a good brushing by the master at hand before departure)? Thanks again! The unique ambience of this mountain oasis is undoubtedly the ability to listen to the rush of the Little River as you rock your cares away in the two back porch rockers. A marshmallow roast over the cozy fire pit ends your perfect day. Combine that with being able to hike down the private lane and step across the Park boundary and you'll find yourself wanting to explore again and again. You will even ford a little waterfall that crosses the lane as you venture out and take in nature's bounty! Townsend has a three mile bike trail, a fly fishing school, occasional bluegrass/molasses festivals, gorgeous mountain golf greens, nice dining, hiking trails, horseback riding, gobs of tubing opportunities, and is within seven miles of historic Cades Cove. You're only 18 miles from Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, Gatlinburg, music theaters, outlet malls, and activities of all sorts. If you yearn to learn more about our awesome Smoky heritage, ask for FREE tickets to the Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center. Play like a squirrel...run out for the goodies then retreat to your little nest on the 'peaceful side' of the Smokies in Townsend, Tennessee. It all awaits you at River Bluff Cabins in the Smokies ... when you're searching for a memory, not just another place to sleep...Note: six of our unique cabins .. 'Bearfoot Lodge', 'Genesis', 'Refuge', 'Manna', 'Bearfoot 2' 'BearyTale' and 'Evergreen' all sit on the same lovely one-lane road nestled in the woods, some with River ambience! They are within walking distance to one another as well as the National Park boundary line, although they maintain their own privacy. Together, they will accommodate 43 folks! Book one or all six! Now how cool is that! More

Loved this place. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed staying here. It is close enough to the Smoky Mountain NP - so close you can see it out the back windows. And close enough to the shopping of PF and Gatlinburg to shop but far...More

Refuge was cozy and had everything you could possibly need. The only down fall for us was the narrow gravel road leading to the cabin. We have an expedition and found it difficult to pass another car. The bed was a little soft for our...More

About the neighbourhood
Bring your pole for that 'fisherman's dream'... the Tennessee Little River, which you can marvel at from your private deck at 'Refuge.' As you are enjoying the serenity of nature, you can gaze across the river and see the occasional hazy 'smoke' boiling over the mountaintops, which gives the majestic Smokies their name. Townsend has a three-mile bike trail, a fly fishing school, occasional bluegrass/molasses festivals, gorgeous mountain golf greens with swimming pool access, nice dining, hiking trails, horseback riding, gobs of tubing opportunities, and is within seven miles of historic Cades Cove. You're only 18 miles from Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, Gatlinburg, music theaters, outlet malls, and activities of all sorts. Play like a squirrel...run out for the goodies then retreat to your litt...
