Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Lovely retreat
We really enjoyed our stay! The hosts put a lot of thought into decor and items in the cabin to make it feel comfortable. They're also very responsive via text if you have questions. The cabin is so cozy and the historic charm is perfect! We really loved our stay, very much appreciate the hosts, and would come again! The view from the maze path is GLORIOUS. The walk up is tough if you're not up on your cardio but completely worth it so keep pushing! Just as a heads up for folks' vehicles- the driveway/ road up to the cabin is a dirt/gravel road and is a bit tricky (if you're not used to those types of roads) and is quite steep at times but it's totally possible as we made it with our regular 4 door sedan. Just make sure to start up the hill from the main road at a good speed.

Amazing stay!!
This cabin was amazing, comfy, clean and close to Lexington. We did the little walk in the back of the cabin, wow..what a great sunset from atop that hill. It was so quiet, great place to disconnect from all. It had everything we needed for the weekend. i am already recommending to friends! Thank you Antonia for your hospitality!!

Just What We Needed!
Enjoyed staying in this secluded and quiet cabin with its close proximity to town, attractions, and all conveniences. It is a wonderful property to hike, explore, and see the breathtaking mountain views, especially during leaf change season. Cabin had everything we needed, and deer were our special visitors. No problem climbing mountain on gravel road to cabin, in a two-wheel drive car, even in the rain. The owner and manager were fantastic to work with, and very accomodating when a technology barrier prevented editing the booking dates.

Rustic beauty but needs repairs
Pros: Cabin is in an excellent location near to sightseeing and shopping. Cabin lot is private and serene. Kitchen and bathroom are outfitted nicely. Bedroom is very comfortable. Cons: Porch screens need significant repairs. Porch floor has mold/mildew from leaks. Cabin needs thorough cleaning/dusting. Bathroom lamp not working (need bulb?)

Cabin stay
Had a great stay. Woke up to deer in the yard. Had everything we needed. Will be booking this cabin again soon. This is a great retreat from a busy world. You can not see or be seen by anyone from this location. Yet only a few minutes from anything you could need.

Nice romantic getaway
This cabin was a great combination of tranquility and character while still being 10-15 minutes from just about everything we wanted to visit. Being able to bring our dogs and have so many great places to hike with them was a huge plus. Thanks!

peace and quiet
We were finishing up our trip out East by wanting to relax for a day or two before heading back home.Could not have been much better.Very quiet and secluded location in a rustic cabin, but decently furnished with enough modern conveniences .We even saw a few deer outside feeding along the driveway.Exactly what we were looking for.

Hello Jerry, We are so happy you enjoyed your stay with us at our Highlands Cabin. Several people have named it "the magical cabin" for its ability to help guests relax and unplug from the modern noise of life. Great cabin
What a great experience staying at the cabin. The cabin was well set up and very original. Fantastic secluded spot yet close for access to the blue ridge parkway. We will definitely be looking to book again in the future when we come back to the US. Thanks for making the trip memorable!
