Situated on the best golden sandy beach in La Tranche this recently decorated and improved 6 bedroom 4 bathroom beach villa enjoys 180-degree south-facing sea and beach views - and is presented like new.
Following recent improvements this accommodation is now a private large detached house for your exclusive use, arranged over two floors, with around 2400 sq feet of internal space.
This house has a stunning setting directly at the boundary with the sand dunes for the best beach in The Vendee called La Griere Plage - a huge golden sandy strip that heads for miles in each direction.

Viel Platz für bis zu 12 Personen
Das Haus liegt in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Strand. Eine schöne Außenterrasse ermöglicht einen tollen Blick auf das Meer bis zur Ile de Re.
Der Ort ist sehr ruhig. Zu Fuß braucht man bis in die City eine gute Stunde.

Fabulous location and fully equipped
8 of us have just had a wonderful week here. The house was so spacious and had everything we could possibly want/ need. The TV was especially well appreciated by some as they’d never seen one so big!
The beds were very comfortable and we loved the short walk to the glorious sandy beach.

Très agréable maison sur le littoral
Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine de vacances entre amis, la maison est idéalement située sur le bord de plage et James est entièrement disponible en cas de problème. Les commerces sont à proximité et la maison est isolée sans vis-à-vis avoisinant. Nous la recommandons !

Lovely well presented Villa
We really enjoyed our stay at this Villa, having stayed in Tranche sur Mer on a couple of occasions, the Villa itself has everything you require for your stay, Perfectly sited in front of the ocean, sitting out every morning with the 1st coffee of the day, and dining on the evening with the waves crashing about. The local supermarket less than a mile away has everything you might need during your stay.
The villa itself is very large, we mainly stayed on the upper floor due to the great views it offers, downstairs offers more rooms and a nice cinema room, secure parking on the grounds was ideal too. The owner was very polite and engaging, thus we also thank him for allowing us the late check out that was much appricated. Been keen cyclised there is plenty of cycle routes that are bike friendly and safe. The location and the villa were amazing and we'll visit again.

eine tolle zeit im beachhouse
wir verbrachten eine wundervolle zeit im haus in la Tranche sur Meer!!!
das haus ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man im Urlaub braucht.wunderbare sonnenuntergänge auf der Terrasse, ein sehr netter, hilfsbereiter vermieter.
es ist für alles gesorgt. auch unsere Hunde haben sich dort sehr wohlgefühlt.
alles in allem ein perfekter Urlaub in einem tollen Ferienhaus.

A wonderful holiday in a wonderful house
We absolutely loved our time staying in the beach house. We were 2 families with 5 children between us ranging from 1-8 years old and it was perfect for everyone. The rooms were all clean and spacious and the beach views were simply idyllic. The beach is a 2 minute walk from the property meaning it was possible to pop home for lunch/nap time. The TV has English channels/YouTube which was great for when the children needed a bit of downtime and the cinema room downstairs was perfect on the day that we had rain. The coffee machine and self refilling ice cube drawer in the fridge are things that we have missed since coming home!
It is just a few minutes walk to La Griere which has a few restaurants, a delicious bakery, pizzeria etc. Super U is 5 minutes in the car. The free bus to La Tranche is something that we took advantage of several times and leaves regularly throughout the day.
James is an excellent host and replied almost immediately to any query that we had. It was very reassuring to know that he was there. The property was cleaned half way through our stay (so perfectly we were reluctant to let the children and their sandy feet back in!). The bed linen and towels were all changed which was really nice.
We made some very special memories here. Our BBQs on the balcony overlooking the ocean with a glass of something cold (once the children were in bed!) won’t be forgotten in a hurry. Thank you x

Great house with amazing view
We were two families (four adults and five children) staying in this lovely house. It could have easily hosted another family as we had two spare bedrooms. The location near the beach was ideal and the view from the balcony was amazing. The house had all the things that you need and was well maintained and clean. The cinema room, with its selection of English language films, was great for the kids on rainy days and in the evenings. La Griere as a village has got a few decent shops and restaurants but it’s also easy to get into the bigger town of La Tranche sur Mer (either by foot, bike, car or using the free bus service). Owner was very friendly and helpful. Provided lots of information material about the house (and it’s appliances) and the surrounding area. We can’t wait to go back to this lovely part of France.

Great house and great town for a bike holiday
We came here with our 4 teenage grandchildren as a base for a biking holiday and it’s a fantastic location to explore. There’s lots of sandy beaches that run right along the coast and every half mile there’s a restaurant, bar, ice-cream shop, surf school or boat hire business.
In the local village there’s bike and pedal car hire which worked perfectly for us and the local businesses were very welcoming.
This is a big house with lots of recreation rooms and plenty of space which is ideal for teenagers. We self catered and the kitchen is superb. It’s a nice private setting and the sunrise / sunset views are ace.

Perfect beach house for a family holiday
This area of France is gorgeous and we've been lots of times with family but this was the first time on our own. La Greiere is lovely and also very close (only 5 minutes away) to La Tranche for more variety.
This place was perfect to chill out after my exams and it was so relaxing to sit on the balcony drinking coffee in front of the sea, then stroll into town in the evening.
House is large and well equipped for a holiday home- we didn't need to bring anything - even had a high chair and cot. Kudos to the owner for being flexible with the check-in and check-out dates.

About the neighbourhood
The holiday resort of La-Tranche-sur-Mer, is on the Atlantic coast in the south of the Vendée. It faces south towards the Ile de Re and has one of the most favourable climates in the Vendée, and with 8 kilometres of fine sandy beaches it is one of the Vendée’s most popular resorts. The white painted houses and Narrow streets give the town a Mediterranean atmosphere. For most of the year it is a sleepy quiet resort, but in July and August the streets and beaches burst into life with a multitude of holiday makers. The evenings come alive with entertainment, featuring both shows and street artists. La Tranche-sur-Mer is also a Mecca for water sports, and superb restaurants.
Getting around
You can easily walk to all essential amenities / shops in the local village of La Griere which also has restaurants / shops / bars and a premium local artisan market.
The road infrastructure is excellent and there's a local bus service (usually free if you're heading to major shops / tourist areas) and there's a taxi firm.

The full address is on the first page of the guide that we send guests when they book - it is easy to find, but we recommend using google maps or up to date sat-nav as the French constantly improve their road network and the latest routes could save you time.
You will follow the signs for La Tranche Sur Mer from the autoroute exit and La Griere Plage is the local village.
