Wide and peaceful ROOM overlooking the ocean in an old monastery built on the sea, with thick walls and vaulted ceiling.
My house, where I live, is located in the ancient village of Ischia Ponte not far from the harbour and the commercial streets, as well as from the hills and the inner parts of the island, where you can enjoy beautiful walks. The island of Ischia has a long and rich history (first Greek settlement in the western Mediterranean sea), is well known for its thermal waters and is also called “the green island” for the rich vegetation that covers it. My apartment used to be part of a XIIIth century monastery. Built near the sea, it has a 180° view from the Aragonese Castle to Punta Molino, through the Vesuvius, the Islands of Procida and Vivara and the Italian coast. The apartment has thick walls and vaulted ceilings, and a balcony on strong arches. The room is wide and peaceful, heated in winter, overlooking the sea.
Ischia is located in the Gulf of Naples. Once you reached Naples by airplane or train you take a boat or an “aliscafo” (hydrofoil) from Naples harbour to Ischia.
When you arrive on the island of Ischia go in the direction of the Aragonese Castle (by taxi, bus - n.7- or with a pleasant 30 min. walk) . When in Ischia Ponte, you will find the white church of the Holy Spirit on your right. In front of it: Largo Convento. ...
Getting around
There are buses that will bring you all around the Island, or I can help you renting a car or a scooter.
