We have enjoyed our stay at Pond Cottage a lot. It is a very comfortable place to stay. Good kitchen with spices, herbs, oil, vinegar. Nice beds! No noise and good curtains.

We actually stayed here on two separate intervals in May and June for a total of three weeks. We toured elsewhere in the UK in the intervening period. The facility was immaculate as were the surrounds. The really wonderful part however were the hosts Robin and Erica. This widely travelled couple were the epitome of hospitality. A lovely secluded cottage in vast grounds, wildfowl, trees, well mantained garden and lovely surroundings. A friendly red squirrel comes to visit every morning. The cottage is perfect in every aspect, with modern fittings making it extremely comfortable, all that is needed to cook for four people, and a most relaxing atmosphere. You can choose between breakfast in the house...

About the neighbourhood
Horringford is on the main Newport to Sandown road (A3056) and either is a ten-minute drive. The cottage is away from the road and is accessed down a tree-lined avenue. It is quiet and secluded and is close to a disused railway track that is now used for cycling.

How to get there
Ferry: East Cowes: 12.0 km
From Newport, follow the A3056 south through Arreton past Stickworth Hall, the traffic lights and the sign for the A23 cycle route. After 200 metres, just before the 50mph sign, take a U turn to the left. There is a sign for Horringford Gardens. Drive down through the poplar trees and take the first turning to the right, Behind the trees on your left is Blandings. First turning on left takes you down the hill to Pond Cottage.

Your SatNav may well instruct you to turn West to Stickworth Hall at the South end of Arreton. DON'T!
