We arrived late due to a previous problem with a return boat trip [bad weather forced a route change and delay] that put us solidly into afternoon traffic from Seattle that turned out to be a total nightmare. No fault of the cabin owner or management property to be sure....
Soooo, arrived at the cabin around 10.30pm, Keys were available via a lock box at the registration office - that was no problem. I'd spoken with them prior to and we were all setup in that respect. The number sign was slightly overgrown so took a couple of passes to see it in the dark. Came up to the property and proceed inside...
Only problem once in was all the windows were closed and it was very hot/stuffy inside. No air-conditioning in any room, really not needed if it had been aired out at some point, so we had to open some windows to allow the very comfortable night air in - BUT - there were also no screens on the window in the upstairs bedroom. Got a visit from a few curious bugs at first. Took a couple hours for everything to cool off. Second night we slept in the bunk beds downstairs.
We were going to get in the hot tub the second day, but the temp was slightly north of 108 so had to wait a bit for it to cool down, then it was fine. Hard to decipher the controls if one was using for their first time though. Very nice sitting in the tub, secluded area due to growth even though a couple cabins are not too far away, but felt very private. Pics don't do it justice there as you need the expansive view to take it in. Good view of the mountains, weather was perfect.
It's been a bit since someone rented I'd think, and we encountered a few small spider webs along the way, but the cabin was very clean and well appointed. Clock on the wall with a sign that said ''don't touch'' was a little off-putting, but I understand the value of the coo coo clock was either personal or monetary. Either way I would have just not put it up...
Laundry availablity was nice touch, all the chemicals were in the cupboard, very convenient. Really liked the look of the interior...comfortable, homey, glad we took a key out on the deck with us as the right side door locks when you go out and we'd have been stuck :-)
Beds were comfortable enough, sheets clean and we didn't encounter any critters in or out...
Only a two night stay, so the first night was a total waste...wouldn't have been much better getting there on time unless you're arriving after a day of hiking since a ''no burn'' ban was in place - no outdoor fire pit allowed to sit by and enjoy [even though everything was green] plenty of firewood on site also, nice touch.
Fantastic area to explore, the local food near the cabin is great, very nice people. My wife reported the best Late' she's ever had in the little town before the cabin area. Just stopped by accident, and she was hooked...we availed ourselves three times over the 36 hrs we were there :-)
My only rub on the trip is that for this time of year, personal opinion, the unit is way overpriced for what it is. I could be totally wrong, but you're nearing upper mid/lower high end seasonal prices at the beach in Pensacola for July. Would expect those prices in ski season perhaps, but that's just my opinion...and yes, I've traveled. On this trip we visited Oregon which completed my visitation of all 48 contiguous along with 8 countries.
Just considering where it is, what it is, and what one does at this time of year.
Are the views beautiful? YES, with the weather we were blessed with they were spectacular...
Did we enjoy exploring the area? For sure
Nice locals ? Absolutely
If it were more conservatively listed we'd not have a problem staying there again to be sure. The management company is professional, very diligent in following up/performing their duties and made the in/out process very easy. A definite plus when you're 2,700 miles from home...

Hi Bobby:
Thank you for your review for Cabin #44! We are very pleased to hear that key pick-up/drop-off worked out well for you, and that you had an enjoyable stay at the cabin! A couple of points; we do apologize for the sign adjacent to the cuckoo clock. It was placed there after someone broke the clock, and it was very expensive to have repaired. Due to the extremely dry nature of our wooded area in general, the fire marshal has placed a full-on burn ban in effect. One only has to turn on the national news to understand the gravity of the fire danger in our national forests during our dry season. In many parts of the country it may sound silly but, up here, close to 40 days without rain is a major event for us. While we want everyone to enjoy a nice campfire, we also want them to have a place to return to, year after year. The Mt. Baker area is as popular during the summer rental season as during the winter ski season...most notably for being a hiker's mecca, and for the float trips that occur along the Nooksack River, as well as for freshwater fishing. While rates during the summer season do increase, they go back down during low season...April, May, and early June., and again during September, October, and early November. Many thanks for the neat and tidy way in which you left the cabin upon departure. It was truly a pleasure hosting you, and we look forward to seeing you again the next time that your travel plans bring you in our direction :) Happy trails, Dan
