Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Perfect place for a family reunion
I rented four Kala Point units for a family reunion, and it was perfect. Everyone loved the beach: the small children built sand castles and splashed in the water, adults enjoyed the loop trail to the lagoon and the Point, also the heated pool and hot tub. There was enough space for all 18 of us to gather for a cocktail hour, and we could gather in a unit or at the outdoor picnic tables for supper. Since the units are well stocked with cooking and serving gear, we just had to pick up groceries on our way to Port Townsend.
The Port Townsend area offers many opportunities for vacation activities. Members of our group found marine animals and bioluminescent plankton on an evening tour with Olympic Kayak Tours, watched orca and humpback whales with Puget Sound Express, enjoyed a 'crane circus' and danced to cajun music at Finn River Farm, walked the Ludlow Falls Interpretive Trail, and ventured farther afield to see the mountains from Hurricane Ridge and marvel at the Butchart Gardens on a day trip to Victoria.
All in all, Kala Point Village provided the venue for a family reunion that far exceeded my expectations.

I will be back!
I made the mistake of not pushing the last button when booking a stay here. The night before I called to confirm our reservation and was shocked to discover my mistake. Brenda in the office went to so much effort to help me and our vacation was saved. If you check out their site Kala Point Village under rentals there are many units available year round at a very good price. Most of the other reviews cover things in general, but the location to the beach is the big hit here. For the many directions we went in from Forks ( to find vampires) to disc golf in Silverdale this spot was perfect for us. It checks off so many boxes for me with Starbucks being about 4 miles away, that I am planning a longer stay in 2 years.

Beautiful property and location
We stayed here with another couple in a two bedroom timeshare unit. The grounds and facilities were amazing. We used the pool and hot tub and walked the beach close to the property several times. The property is located about five miles outside of Port Townsend, but the drive is easy. The unit itself was a nice size and a little on the older side, but clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we needed to have some "left at home" meds delivered while we were out sight seeing.

Pleasantly surprised!
After our experience attempting to book and ask various questions concerning the room, I was not optimistic about how our stay would work out. The front desk person was so rude and intentionally unhelpful that I complained to the manager. I had asked about early check-in (we have two small children) and was told curtly initially that there was no chance whatsoever. However, after complaining, early check in suddenly became available.
That experience aside, everything else was lovely. The condo was quite outdated, but perfectly functional. The beach was a short walk away, and there was a playground right there. It was great for our kids. Unfortunately, the club house had very strange hours on the weekends, so we were never able to use it. We also never encountered a staff member, which was fine by me.
We are looking forward to coming back during the summer.

Beautiful view condo - Kala Point is beautiful and not far from Pt. Townsend
We loved our stay in the penthouse condo, The cozy furnishings and beds were all great - the unit is really clean! Which I love. The fireplace was wonderful. Our views overlooked the Port Townsend Bay, and the gateway for all the cruise ships that go back and forth from the Seattle and Anchorage Ports. Lots of great marine vessel sightings. We saw eagles, deer, herons daily. They have the binoculars there for your enjoyment. The artwork and stone sculptures in the condo is all original and beautiful! It really adds to the uniqueness of the stay. Kala Point is a private gated community, and is really well maintained, Kala Point has its own private beach and tons of walking trails, I would highly recommend this condo for your stay in the Port Townsend area.

Kala Point is a pretty location outside Port Townsend
Port Townsend WA is a lovely town, very popular with tourists, on Washington's Olympic Peninsula. Most of us arrive via the Kingston Ferry, just north of Seattle, though some
take the Bainbridge Island ferry to get there, or if coming from the south, drive overland from Tacoma, WA. Great spot at the entrance to much more in the Olympic peninsula, kind of a gateway. The unit we stayed at was in the woods. A nice path leads you past tennis courts to the beach and a Puget Sound waterfront. We loved the beach, pretty empty and perfect for walking. I bought a week here at a grandchild's preschool auction, so my daughter and family stayed first 2 nights and husband and I the rest of the time. We only last 2 nights: weather was gloomy and we got bored. Unit is dark, needs updating, but clean and adequate. Office person very nice.

Hello, this review is most likely for the Kala Point Time Shares. This unit is an individually owned condo and is very updated. Unfortunately flipkey has mismatched out unit with the time shares.

Rustic And Beautiful
We stayed at Kala Point during a time when the weather was perfect. There's much to do in the area if you want a relaxed, low keyed vacation. We walked the beach located on the Kala Point property every day. A visit to nearby Port Townsend to look at the old Victorian homes, take a ferry ride, visit antique stores, stop by the huge local hardware store that has a little bit of everything, or eat at well known rustic local restaurants was fun. For the more adventurous, a trip to the mountains of the Olympic Peninsula is a full days outing. You can take a drive to Sequim or Port Angeles and take a ferry to Victoria, B.C. There is lots to do if you carefully plan ahead. The accommodations are not five star or even four, but they serve as a great home base to see a beautiful part of the country. We'd go back any time!

Peaceful, great kitchen, wonderful area
Our timeshare unit had diaries from the first 12 owners dating back to 1980. Reading stories of family gatherings, card games with friends, lovers hiking, was as if we were staying at a friend's beloved cabin. We liked the area--Wild Birds Unlimited store with Luther the cat; Port Townsend and its boutiques, bakeries and the Rose Theatre; access to the Olympic National Park; Crabfest at Port Angeles; air museum was also a highlight.

Kala Point location was superb
Kala Point location was superb. Close to town, had a private beach, really nice area. The lady who worked the check in desk was very, very pleasant. The unit we stayed in did have a nice porch. It was reasonably clean. It was pretty dated in furniture and layout was strange. There was a big loft area that wasn’t really set up to use for any particular purpose. The master bedroom only had a full size bed, really could use at least a Queen. Luckily both my husband and are not big people. I had invited friends to stay (before I saw the unit) and found the spare bedroom only had 2 twin beds. Fine if I had kids in there. Not as nice for our friends who are a married couple. I am a timeshare owner with MROP so maybe I got a lesser unit than someone paying by the night? Not sure but my pictures don’t show a cool spiral staircase, leather couch or metal fireplace so they don’t match what was posted by another reviewer.

Hi Christine
I am the owner of the Kala Pt COndo that has the spiral staircase and the leather couch and is situated on the frontage of thedrive down to the beach so there is an unobstructed view in this unit - you must have satyed in another unit - there are times shares there, ours is a condo and not a time share, and it has been rented since Feb 2013 - so you have posted a review on the wrong listing. I am just letting you know I will remove it. Thanks Katharine
