The 10,000 square foot Castino Lakeview Mansion sits high atop a bluff with breathtaking views of Lake Michigan. It's just steps down to the expansive beach and marina, with sand volleyball nets and fire pits. The house combines the feel of yesteryear's opulence with all the modern amenities. The home was built in 1912 by coal and shipping baron JP Reiss of the Great Lakes, and he spared no expense. The features include mahogany trim, barreled dining room ceiling, and ornamental plasters, along with iron, stone and brickwork. There are 9 bedrooms in the main house, including a variety of bunks and sleeper sofas, so can comfortably sleep a combination of children and adults up to a total of 24. (There are two additional bedrooms in the coach house also available for rent.) The main house has 9 bathrooms, 11 fireplaces, 11 fla... Read more

This beautifully positioned stately home within walking distance to town and the lake front is an experience everyone should have. From start to finish the owner makes renting this mansion super easy. She is quick to respond, honest and communicates well. The home itself is a nice mix between the old and the new. The decorating is eclectic and every time you walk into a room you discover something new. The bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable. When sleeping you can't hear the noise from the rest of the house. The house is so large yet perfect. Lots of space to find a quiet corner to read a book or relax and large gathering space(s) to enjoy the company of others. The downstairs bar, entertaining area is perfect for those late night rowdy crowd gatherings and the expanded veranda has perfect views of the lake and a cozy corner with "firepit" for conversation. It is like stepping into someone's home for the weekend. The house is supplied with everything and...

About the neighbourhood
There's plenty to do in Sheboygan, selected as the number one place to raise a family in America by Bloomberg's Business Week and Reader's Digest. It's also known as the "Malibu of the Midwest," and Surf Sheboygan is an appropriate motto! Wind surfing, yolo boarding, kite surfing, motor boating, sailing, charter fishing and good old fashioned swimming are great ways to take advantage of Mother Nature's gift. Want to go exploring by water? We have 4 kayaks available for your use. Three blocks south on the lakefront is an exceptional YMCA, and a mile down on the lakefront is an indoor water park with day passes available year round. Near the water park is a row of boutiques, and across the way is the river walk, with restaurants/bars, shops and fishermen (and... more
