The Bearitage at Brooks Lake is located in the Shoshone National Forest right beside Brooks Lake Creek on the Continental Divide. It is perfectly situated as a great base camp for day trips to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks as well as Jackson Hole (all about 1 hour away - much of which is through national forest with stunning views and wildlife along the way). The quaint, cowboy town of Dubois is located only 20 miles to the east and offers unparalleled fishing on the Wind River. The meadows, creek and forests surrounding the cabin are frequented by moose, elk, mule deer, black bears and grizzlies as well as huge snowshoe hares. The cabin is accessible by snowmobile, snow shoes or cross country skis only during the winter, snowy months which makes for a great adventure shou...The Bearitage at Brooks Lake is located in the Shoshone National Forest right beside Brooks Lake Creek on the Continental Divide. Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Wonerful Cabin in the Woods
If you are looking to get out there for a vacation, the The Bearitage at Brooks Lake is the perfect place. It is remote, rustic, and private with all the modern amenities. The cabin offers WiFi and satellite TV. It has a beautiful old fireplace, but heaters in every room as well. The view of the creek is gorgeous. The surrounding mountains an Brooks Lake are breathtaking. The owners are very knowledgeable and give great advise in their welcome packet. Almost everything we did for a week was directly from their suggestions in the packet. We saw as much wildlife around the cabin as anywhere we went. We saw a Bull and Cow Moose on numerous occasions. Saw mule deer almost every time we drove in or out. There were 5 in my group. Each person thoroughly enjoyed the cabin.

How to get there
DIRECTIONS: • FROM THE EAST: Travel west from downtown Dubois approximately 23 miles and turn right onto the Brooks Lake Road (just past mile marker #32/watch for the Brooks Lake Recreation Area brown sign). Travel approximately 1.5 miles up Brooks Lake Road and turn left onto Breccia Drive. It is not marked with a road sign but does show up on Google Maps (you’ll want to turn on Google maps when in town while you have cell service). The road is marked with a brown forest service pole marked with a #581 (this turn is just before a metal gate closure for closing the road during the winter months). Drive approximately .3 miles to the 2nd cabin on the left marked with a “35 Beavers” sign on a tree. There is a sign over the door that says “Bearitage” – the quaint name given to the cabin by a prior owner many years ago. • FROM THE WEST: From the Jackson airport, turn left onto US 26 towards Moran/Yellowstone/Dubois. Continue on US 26 for 25 miles to Moran Junction and bear east (watch for the Dubois road sign). Continue on US 26 East for approximately 37 miles and turn left onto the Brooks Lake Road (just past the mile marker #34 sign – watch for the brown Brooks Lake Recreation Area brown sign).
