When one visits Acadia, there are lots of places to stay, but it is most important to be able to walk to the center of town for dinner, shopping, bike rentals, or boarding the Island Explorer bus. Stewart Cottage has this advantage, but also is just enough off the beaten path so that it is a quiet oasis. In addition, it is homey, comfortable, well-appointed, solid, and genuine. It has lots of room for a reasonably sized family, and is laid out efficiently on a couple of floors so that the kids can hang out downstairs without bothering the sleeping parents at night, while the parents can rise early, go downstairs and have a cup of coffee without bothering the sleeping kids in the morning. The renting process was unbelievably simple and reliable, with Acadia Rentals doing things exactly on time for exactly what was expected. I hope not too many people read this review, or I won't be able to book again next year.
