La Soledad Guest House is located in Historic Harpers Ferry on a small lavender farm. We are situated overlooking the Potomac River and mountains of MD and VA. Views are spectacular from the upstairs guesthouse! We are walking distance to restaurants, shopping, Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, Appalachian Trail Conservancy, hiking trails and river access. We offer an outdoor grill and romantic dining gazebo, as well as a cozy fire pit with stunning views and sounds of the river! There is a full kitchen with limited cooking capabilities. About the neighbourhood

We are on 1 1/2 riverfront acres within the limits of the historic town of Harpers Ferry. It is exactly a one mile walk to the convergence of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers, as well as the Appalachian Trail! (The distance listed below is incorrect.) You do not need a car to go to wonderful local restaurants and coffee shops. There is plenty Civil War history here and lots to see and learn at the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. We have three different rafting companies in town, and two rivers to raft, or just float on inner tubes! The Appalachian Trail Conservancy is just down the street, and the trail comes right through town. If you are into something a little more relaxed, we are surrounded by many local wineries and breweries

Getting around

Most things here are within walking distance. Be aware that we are in a town with some hills, so wear comfortable shoes. You will need a car to go to the grocery store. We have several within just a few miles. There are limited paid parking spots within the small town if you are not into walking the short walk down. We have plenty of parking available here at La Soledad.

How to get there

La Soledad is within about an hour’s drive from DC, Baltimore, and major towns in Northern Virginia. The MARC Train stops here in Harpers Ferry, as well as Amtrac. If you are bicycling, the C&O Towpath comes right through lower town, and if you are hiking, Harpers Ferry is considered the “center point” of the Appalachian Trail!
