Prospect Park is particularly well-suited for families with children - with playgrounds, the Brooklyn zoo, the carousel, Brooklyn Botanic Garden and the new state of the art 'Lakeside' skating rink and water park. Enjoy the great summer concerts on offer at Prospect Park, or take a pleasant walk through the park to reach Park Slope, Grand Army Plaza, and the beautiful Brooklyn Library. Just a few minutes' stroll will take you through a landmark historic district known for its free-standing, elegant Victorian homes with large yards built in the early 1900’s - a rare sight in the middle of New York City. Critically-acclaimed restaurants and fashionable bars abound in the lovely Ditmas Park neighborhood, and supermarkets, fruit/vegetable stands, stores, and shops are all close by. The apartment is a very spacious 1 bedroom furnished very comfortably. The hardwood floors have just been redone, and both the kitchen and the bathroom are recently renovated. It has a queen-size bed in the bedroom and a pull-out sofabed (queen size) in the living room, so it can accommodate 4 people comfortably. The kitchen has everything you might need for cooking: refrigerator, oven, range, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, blender, pots and pans, etc. There's a flat screen HD-TV with cable service, DVD player and high-speed wireless internet, as well as air conditioning. Street parking is available in the neighborhood.More

About the neighbourhood
The neighborhood was created in 1899, when a famous developer of the time purchased what was then farmland to create Prospect Park South, a community that he described as 'the country in the city.' His project soon became the blueprint for the modern suburb, but now of course the neighborhood is in the heart of Brooklyn. Emerging from the subway onto the hustle and bustle of commercial Church Avenue, one turns down a side-street and is immediately immersed in what seems another world, with huge Victorian houses surrounded by perfectly manicured gardens spanning the lovely streets.
Getting around
The easiest way to get around the City is by subway, with the Q and B lines just a few minutes' walk away providing a direct line into Manhattan. Bus routes also pass by the apartment and JFK airport is just a 25 minute taxi ride away.
