Enjoy the great summer concerts on offer at prospect park, or take a pleasant walk through the park to reach park slope, grand army plaza and the beautiful Brooklyn library, or to discover nearby landmark areas such as ditmas park and prospect heights. Prospect park is particularly well-suited for families with children - with playgrounds, the Brooklyn zoo, the carousel and the new 'lakeside' skating and children's water park. The subway provides quick and easy access to Manhattan and other parts of Brooklyn (parkside or prospect park stops of the b/q trains, Winthrop stop of the 2/5 trains). The Barclay's center concert venue and stadium is also just a couple of subway stops from the apartment. The apartment is cheerfully decorated and is a peaceful retreat from the bustle of big city life. It is newly furnished, freshly painted and is equipped with everything you could need to feel at home. It has beautiful hard-wood floors throughout and provides all the amenities (flat-screen HDTV, cable, wifi, air conditioning). The apartment comfortably accommodates 4 people, with a queen-size bed in the bedroom and a full-size pull-out sofa bed in the living room. Whip up a home-cooked meal in the fully-stocked and roomy kitchen (oven, range, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, pots, pans, plates, etc). Note that the apartment is located on the 2nd floor of a walk-up building (no elevator). Bedding, linens and towels are provided.More

About the neighbourhood
The neighborhood had its origins when in 1893, James Lefferts divided his farm into 600 residential lots, to be called Lefferts Manor. A rectangle of roughly half a square mile skirting the southeastern edge of Prospect Park, the Prospect-Lefferts Gardens neighborhood is known for its well-preserved late 19th- and early 20th-century architecture, a low-rise mix that includes Romanesque Revival, neo-Georgian and neo-Tudor styles. Along with the beautiful architecture, there is a lot of commerce and little cafes and restaurants along Flatbush Avenue. It’s a very lively and diverse neighborhood.
Getting around
The best way to get around is via subway and there are several different subway lines that service the apartment (Q, B, S, 2, 5).
