Our Kona Bali Kai direct ocean front condo (Unit 219) sits 30' behind the seawall. You can't get any closer to the sea without getting wet. If you want DIRECT Ocean Front, next to the most popular Island surf break in a TOTALLY remodeled unit at a great price point look no further. The view is indeed world class - it just does not get any better! The 2BR/BA unit completed an $80,000 wall to wall full remodel in early 2014. The new 5 star interior is unbeatable with custom Cherry cabinetry, solid granite counters, new windows, new patterned tiled floors, new stainless steel appliances, quality Pella sliders and new, comfortable beds. Condo total square footage including lanai is about 1,000'. You will notice different sizes quoted in KBK adds. Interiors are about 806 square feet + the 200 square feet lanai. Enjoy our full width lanai with new top of the line Pella double glass, low e, Fiberglass sliders adjoining the master bedroom and Greatroom. If the surf noise at night is to loud just use the doors to control the sound level. Important note: We have no minimum stay if you 1: Book next to an existing booking and 2: If you are not booking during Ironman or Xmas/New Year Holiday week. Our minimum stay is 6 nights for non adjacent bookings except the minimum stay for Ironman or Xmas/New Year Holiday week is 10 nights. Flipkey software limitations make it difficult to show this, hence the long explanation. If you book more than 10 nights over a holiday/Ironman period the rate charged for the nights over 10 will drop to the seasonal rate. Entertainment center includes 39' Samsung TV with cable box to receive Hi Def Programming, Small radio and dedicated Router for free Wifi. Each major room has a quality Casablanca All Weather Ceiling Fan to keep you cool along with a 12,000 BTU A/C in the Greatroom (w/2 hour timer) for those rare late summer sticky days. (Most complex ocean front units do NOT provide A/C.) We provide free long distance calls to the US and Canada Mainland. The famous (site of frequent competitions) Banyan Surf Break is just offshore from our unit so you'll enjoy watching the surfers in between checking out the frequent turtle (Honu) visitor in the natural lava pond directly in front of the lanai. Our unit is on the convenient 2nd building level with quick access to free ground level parking, courtyard pool and no steps to apartment if you prefer to use the elevator. When on the lanai Just a narrow strip of lawn separates you from the ocean. The natural rock pool in front forces the waves to break out from shore further, reducing the surf noise level, a plus. Custom shoji type silhouette sliding glass panels (Unique to Kona Bali Kai) separate the Greatroom from the MBR. The coastline in front of Kona Bali Kai has accessible tide pools and sandy areas - perfect for poking around on a lazy afternoon. Free Oceanfront propane fired outdoor Barbecues with adjacent picnic tables are available for guests. White Sands County Park is 1 mile south, Kahaluu snorkeling beach/bay is 2 miles south and there is a great small hidden beach cove a short walk away I'll tell you about in my client letter after booking. We live 1 mile south of Kona Bali Kai most of the year at an ocean view condo which we managed as a vacation rental for 10 years before retiring and moving to Kona in 2009. We do the condo turnovers ourselves when on Island. We understand how important our guests vacation time is and do our utmost to provide a positive experience. We provide a detailed, exclusive 16 page guest letter to our clients listing our favorite guide book and information on a host of our favorite beaches, day hikes and snorkel spots to help you with your vacation planning. We also provide tips on how to save airfare & car rental expenses. The owners wife is a part time commercial artist specializing in tropical flower water colors. You will enjoy several examples of her paintings in the condo. The condo is set up as an LLC because it is technically owned by the Owners IRA. Master Bedroom has a full size king bed with nightstands and chest of drawers; 2nd BR has a queen bed with nightstands, dresser and large LCD TV. We have successfully rented Kona condo's with nearly all 5 star reviews since 1999 but are a new addition to the Flipkey family. Our annual occupancy is typically ~ 90% so book early. We provide a 16 page guest letter upon booking that outlines the usual how do we get here/what is included details but also covers our favorite things to do in Kona/Big Island. A 2 week stay just scratches the surface of the many water sports and hiking/golfing options.

This condo is absolutely perfect in every way. It is located in the middle of the main road- beaches, shops, restaurants all around. The small cove in front of the complex has so much wildlife in it! We snorkeled with a sea turtle right there!...More

A beautiful, modern, clean and renovated condo. A very attentive owner with a detailed welcome letter containing recommendations for our stay. About the neighbourhood
The 6 miles of Alii drive between the village of Kailua Kona and south to Keauhou is right out of a south seas novel. Condos, private homes and vacant land are interspersed in green surroundings highlighted in palm trees. Joggers and bicyclists enjoying the widened street are popular. There is a large array of restaurants in both villages and many galleries in Kailua Kona. Cruise ships (tender required) call at Kona a couple of times per week.
