Great location & amenities

The Kona Islander Inn is in a great location, between Alii Drive and the Kuakini hwy, and within walking distance to lots of restaurants, shops and the farmers market. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The pool is great (pool towels provided) and we even used the hot tub one day after a long hike. Nice! There are bbqs to use if you want and they light tiki torches around the pool in the evenings. Having a laundry room on site was helpful, indeed. The room itself was very comfortable, with a small patio. (For patio seating, I personally would not have chosen the tall table/chair combo. Not as comfortable as a regular height table/chair). Bathroom had nice lighting and good size mirror. Shower usually got warm, but never really got a "hot" shower - no big deal. In the closet we found a cooler, beach bag, beach chairs and an umbrella, even snorkel gear (which we didn't use). We found parking to be a little tricky sometimes. If we got back from our daily journey before around 7 or 8 PM, we could usually find a space, but a couple of times we had to find street parking. All in all a very nice time, and would definitely stay again :-)
