If you appreciate lovely wines and freshly caught fish, you will be in a gourmet paradise. Vela Luka shops are lovely, little tucked away squares, restaurants and seaside bars really charming, and the fishermen are the most famous in the whole of Croatia. They are evident everywhere with their wooden boats, nets and lobster pots. As you walk out of the villa, you will me passing in between the olive trees down the path to the beach 150 metres away. ACCOMMODATION MAIN HOUSE Ground floor The ground floor comprises an open-plan sitting room, kitchen and dining area. The spacious sitting room has stone floors, wooden roof beams, large stone fireplace, a comfortable cream L-shaped sofa and a rustic dining table for eight people. Satellite TV/DVD player and HiFi are provided. Directly from the sitting room, a glass door opens out onto the stone terrace. Through an arched opening you are in the pale green farmhouse kitchen, well equipped with a fridge/freezer, cooker and hob, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster, with all the cooking utensils and nice tableware provided. First floor A few wooden steps lead to the first floor. On the first floor there are three double bedrooms and three bathrooms, all tastefully furnished with double beds in a rustic style. Wooden floors and rustic wood ceilings are throughout. Sunny Mediterranean colours are used for the walls, old wooden chests and wardrobes provide plenty of storage space. Two of the bathrooms have bath tubs, and the third has a shower. The bedrooms have access to terraces and lovely sea views. All bed linen and towels are provided. GARDEN COTTAGE A separate garden cottage consists of a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, laundry room and a separate WC. Wine cellar In this villa the wine cellar is a serious affair. An old building with thick stone walls and a perfect temperature holds racks full of the farm's own wines as well as other Croatian wines. This nice room is stacked with interesting old wine vessels and stone olive jars. Wines can be purchased from the owner at cost price. OUTSIDE The villa has a stunning private garden of 8000 square metres. A large swimming pool is surrounded by a stone-paved sunbathing terrace, equipped with sun loungers and parasols. This area has a lovely raised covered terrace with a barbecue, and an outdoor dining table, enjoying magnificent views of the sea. The garden has many stone paths, stone terraces filled in with all kinds of Mediterranean flora, nooks and crannies to hide in and enjoy a quiet moment. Korcula The island of Korcula can be reached by both car and passenger ferries run from Orebic on the Peljesac peninsula to the town of Korcula at the south east end of the island. Korcula Town, considered to be the birth place of Marco Polo, is a beautifully preserved mediaeval town dating from the 13th Century. The town is fortified and positioned on a small elevated peninsula providing a commanding position over the strait between the island and the mainland.
