Day trip info and maps in the cottage. At the end of a sight seeing day you can relax in this private, comfortable and cozy cottage. The kitchen is very functional and ready for you to cook in. There is a WC/shower room. The downstairs bedroom has 2 single beds and the upstairs sleeping loft (up a ladder) offers 2 comfortable mattresses (memory foam). Free WiFi. About the neighbourhood
On the approach of cottage Sel you have views onto volcano Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull and the 2 Gislholt - Lakes. The landscape is hilly but open, with horse and sheep pastures all around, as well as some bushes and trees nearby. The next swimming pool with hot pot and steam room is less than10 min drive away. Only 6km away is a very good riding stable. You can shop for food in Hella or Selfoss, there are also crafts shops selling icelandic sweaters and more. We provide you with tips and a list of day trips in the area!
Getting around
You need to get a rental car, in summer time a normal car will do, most of the time during low season even a small 4x4 will be safer and more comfortable for you. Try bluecarrental.

From Keflavik airport it is about a 2 hrs drive. We will send you info on different scenic routes and what to see on the way, f.ex. Blue Lagoon and mud pools of Krisuvik, ell on the way!
