El Gato Negro (Black Cat Cottage) has been home-from-home since 1995 for couples and single travellers wanting to get to know and hike the mountains and by-ways of Las Alpujarras, while enjoying the comforts of a traditional and genuine village house.

With its thick, insulating stone walls, chestnut beams and winsome style, the cottage is well set-up for summer and winter lets.

The house has an ideal location in a quiet corner just below the village square.

The cottage has a a double bedroom, two sitting areas, bathroom with bathtub and is fully equipped for self-catering.

It has WiFi internet, DVD and some programmes in English on the TV.

About the neighbourhood
Capileira is the highest village in the Poqueira Gorge and the second highest in Spain (1,432 m).

It lies on the sunny, southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountains, from where it gazes down the spectacular valley.

The village offers a very good range of facilities and a welcoming atmosphere. Bars provide free tapas with drinks and wholesome, inexpensive meals are served at a number of restaurants.
