Interaction with guestsThe Cottage is privately owned by myself (Alistair) and my wife Sheila. It is the only one we have, so we pay lots of attention to making sure it is in perfect condition. Once direct contact is sanctioned by Holiday Lettings, communication is direct with ourselves and is usually informal and personal. We issue our Visitor's Notes and other information by email and chat on the phone if anything complex arises. We are delighted to advise on anything which helps our guests enjoy their holiday - from local walks to restaurants and shopping opportunities.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

Amazing
Had an amazing stay with all my family, we spent much of the time in the large dining room playing games. Plenty room and everything you want for cooking and a first class stay. We had the opportunity to sit in the garden in February, can’t wait to return.

Rain didn’t stop play
Very roomy inside and great for socialising. So the fact that it rained every day didn’t matter as we were happy to stay in. Can’t really fault the house, it has everything you need. And if you don’t want to cook then the food in The Royal Hotel is very good.

Simply Incredible
Apon arrival and after a smooth trip from Bath to comrie (my father’s childhood place) we were blown away by the external look of the house and even more so when we went in. My young son stayed in the attic and he described it as his “penthouse suite”. The whole house had a very obvious positive vibe and made us feel instantly at home. The owners were very accommodating and the information left regarding the house on arrival and departure was incredibly helpful as well as a welcoming detail of information about the area. We could not recommend it high enough as it is exceeded our expectations. We will be back as we could not fault the location as it had everything to offer including local amenities. Thank You!

Paradise in Perthshire
We had a wonderful week in this beautiful house, a great place for an extended family visit with everything we needed for our little granddaughter too. So easy to walk to the village shops - several general stores, a deli, butcher, greengrocers and good restaurants too. Excellent walks too so we hardly used the car. A bonus for us was free EV charging in the local car park. The sun shine so we enjoyed the garden but this would be a cosy place in bad weather too with plenty of space.

Fabulous Cottage in a wonderful village.
We has a brilliant week long stay in this lovely cottage with our two children (8 and 4yrs) and our two dogs. The cottage has everything you'll need for a real home from home, but better. The cottage is really spacious with so many quirky areas to relax, and as we found out, a terrific house to play hide and seek. There is plenty of room to park your car/cars in a secure drive at the bottom of a very pretty garden, with seating and BBQ. Its situated in a lovely quiet lane just off the villages main high street, the neighbours were really lovely too. Comrie has so much to offer, with delightful shops, galleries, cafe's, butchers, bakers, greengrocers, chemist, post office etc. Our children loved the skate park, which is only a few mins from the cottage along a few lanes, away from traffic. We crammed as much in during are stay as we could, visiting Comrie croft for the bike trails and super cafe, loch Earn watersports, swimming in the river, deils Cauldron and endless walks and cycles. There's still loads more to explore, so we will definitely be back, infact we didn't want to leave.

An amazing cottage in a great location
We have been returning to Pudding Lane every year (aside from during the covid lockdown) since we got married at Comrie Croft in 2016 and are now enjoying taking our 2 children along with us. We absolutely love the cottage and the surrounding area. The cottage has been renovated beautifully and provides everything that you need for a great stay and the garden is lovely too. In Comrie itself there is a lovely deli, butcher and fruit shop and there are loads of great walks to do right from the door of No1 Pudding Lane. We can't wait to return next March!

Truly Scrumptious Pudding Lane
Quite simply an absolutely beautiful cottage in the absolutely stunning Perthshire countryside. My family stayed a weekend at No. 1 and the cottage is amazing, beautifully decorated, fantastic log fires, unique viewing area, quite simply perfect. The village of Comrie is just lovely too, picture postcard with all the shops you need on your doorstep. Alistair and Sheila are great hosts, friendly, helpful, accomodating. If you are thinking about going then my sincere advice is don't hesitate, you'll love this cottage, the village and the surrounding countryside.

Well appointed and warm cottage
Located in the pleasant village of Comrie, the cottage has been extensively upgraded. In a narrow lane parking the car in the garden was tricky. But the cottage was spacious and lacked nothing.Although dog-friendly the garden wasn’t secure from the neighbouring garden. The underfloor heating gave constant warmth during a cool week-much appreciated. A great cottage for a family holiday In beautiful Perthshire

About the neighbourhood
Comrie is Gaelic for “The place where rivers join” Located in the centre of Scotland, this small conservation village in highland Perthshire is an ideal location for a wide range of outdoor activities. The village caters for all needs with a range of shops including a bakery and a delicatessen. There are two hotels catering for non-residents, a small restaurant and an attractive café. The village has activities in the summer and a 400 year old fire festival at New Year where burning trees are paraded through the village .One of the most attractive aspects of the village is its numerous marked walking trails, allowing the visitor to explore rivers, gorges and forests on the edge of the Highlands.
Getting around
Comrie is in the centre of Scotland, so an ideal base for visiting towns and countryside. You can visit Edinburgh or the West Coast within a couple of hours travel. However, our guests often comment that one of the best things about Comrie is that you can do so much without having to constantly drive. There are a multitude of walks directly from the cottage (you can just walk off into the Highlands) and you can walk to our local Hotels and Restaurants.

How to get there
Comrie is easily accessible with the usual route from Glasgow or Edinburgh being via the M9 to Stirling which becomes the A9 heading for Perth. The quickest and the most attractive route is to leave the A9 and take the A822, marked “Tourist Route to Pitlochry”, through the villages of Greenloaning and Braco. About half a mile beyond Braco take the B827 for Comrie. This remote hill road gives an ideal introduction to the expansive and spectacular scenery of the Highlands. Arrive in Comrie and turn right at the central T junction. Go past the small square and Pudding Lane is on the left. However, we do not recommend using the B827 in extreme weather conditions of snow, ice or extensive flooding. Various alternative routes through Crieff are possible, but conditions are really poor, just follow the A9 to join the M90 at Perth, turn left at the large roundabout and then take the A82 to Comrie.
