Holiday Rental House
Casa Gelsomino is nestled in the heart of Modica, famous for its chocolate manufacturing and listed among the UNESCO’s Heritage Sites since 2002. Named after the wonderful jasmine that overlooks the whole terrace, it is located in an aristocratic palace dating back to the 19th century close to the Dome of San Giorgio. The house, which has kept its characteristic royal vaults and the old flooring after the renovation, is composed of a large living room, 1 double bedroom, another living room with a double sofa bed, a well-equipped kitchen featuring oven and dishwasher and a bathroom with shower and laundry. Last but not least, a garden and a wonderful terrace, ideal for relaxing while having a glass of wine or sunbathing. The locally-made colorful ceramics characterize several rooms of the house, such as the kitchen and the bathroom, which is very peculiar due to the majolicas that entirely cover one of the walls. We also offer to our guests truly authentic experiences to live like a local. If interested, visit our website wonderfulitaly.eu or contact us and we will be more than happy to help you out designing an unforgettable holiday to discover Italian beauties. South-eastern Sicily truly has everything you may desire: crystal clear sea, wild nature and astonishing works of art and of architectures. The cities of Noto, Modica, Scicli and Ragusa Ibla are the best architectural examples left nowadays from the flowering Baroque Age in Europe, with their churches and the precious buildings. The Church of San Giovanni Battista and Palazzo Bertini can be visited in Ragusa Ibla, while in the unique city of Modica there are the Cathedral of San Giorgio, placed on the Iblean upland and the Church of San Pietro, in the valley. Last but not least, the small and medieval Palazzolo and the baroque capital city of Noto are worth a visit, thanks to their vivid streets and noble buildings, such as Palazzo Ducezio. Architecture and culture are the main traits of Val di Noto together with a rich culinary tradition, originated from the melting pot of culture and people who have passed by through the centuries, leaving a piece of their immense traditions and culinary secrets. For wild nature and sea lovers, there are amazing and wild beaches: Calamosche, Vendicari with its Wildlife Park and the precious San Lorenzo. Also, the seafront of Tonnara di Avola, the fisherman village of Marzamemi and Isola delle Correnti, an eye-catching landscape where Mar Ionio and Canale di Sicilia meet. Sicily is beauty, it is a wild land with a long past and it impossible to forget at first glance. The airport of Catania Fontanarossa is about 120 km far away, while Comiso “Pio La Torre” airport is 40 km far.More
