Haltwhistle, Northumberland, England
Stonecrop is a much loved country cottage with a beautiful garden and small orchard in a stunning part of rural Northumberland. It is within easy reach of Hadrian’s Wall and the South Tynedale railway whilst being secluded, and surrounded by wonderful walks, woods and fells.

The Cottage is a listed stone built property, dating back to 1760. It retains much of its original charm and character. The cosy lounge has a log stove in an inglenook fireplace, and the light and attractive kitchen (with underfloor heating) has lovely views overlooking the orchard and garden and towards the South Tyne river. There is a small cloakroom and utility area downstairs and a study with a sofabed.

Upstairs there are two comfortable double bedrooms and a single room with bunk beds. The bathroom is well equipped. The Cottage has good wifi.

Very peaceful location. A great family, friendly cottage with plenty of character. Amazing countryside, Hadriens Wall being only a few miles away with spectacular walks. A lovely walk from the cottage along the river too.

We stayed in Stonecrop Cottage for our summer holidays in the Northern Pennines. The kids had plenty of space to run and play outside in the sumptuous garden. Beautiful views across the garden. The living room provides a snug place for the evenings or rainy days, logfiren included. All in all, this cottage is something out of a Jane Austen...
