The family friendly Châtel is one of the nicest villages in the Portes du Soleil. It is an authentic mountain village with a cozy center. Around the core, apartments and hotels. The area is connected with lifts of Avoriaz and Morzine. The surroundings of Châtel is lovely and makes unlike the artificial ski resorts in the Tarentaise cozy. The mountains are extremely high and many trails lead through the woods. Châtel is often called 'Austria in France'. Despite the connection to the huge pistennet of 650 km are in Châtel not just avid road warrior. Families with children, groups and epicureans are welcome guests in Châtel. The many huts in the area are friendly and are known for their quality.
