Holiday Rental House
We are a family-run sheep and arable farm. In a far corner of a 3 acre field, (affectionately named 'Tom Clarke's Hayfield'), stands a beautifully furnished Shepherd's Hut called 'Bathsheba'. You will have sole access to 'Tom Clarke's Hayfield' and access to roam the 300 acres of pasture and woodland of the farm, perfect for romantic retreats. A Devon Cream Tea will be waiting for you with our compliments and if you feel the need to burn off the Cream Tea, you could take a stroll to the tennis court in the adjoining field or walk along Raddon Ridge to take in the wonderful views towards Dartmoor to the south and Exmoor to the north. There is a private, outdoor, hot water shower and proper flushing loo in a hut a little way from the Shepherd's Hut. There is an outdoor kitchen, with Belfast sink and all the necessary items you would need to rustle up breakfast, lunch and supper. Enjoy sunsets whilst sat beside the fire pit, where you can cook marshmallows and bury a jacket potato for slow cooking.. or simply enjoy gazing into an open fire. Inside the Shepherd's Hut the log burning stove will keep you warm, should our English weather decide to be less than clement! Due to the location, there is no electricity and we offer a large cool box and replace the icepacks daily at the kitchen, and you have sole access to a fridge/freezer and electricity sockets in a barn, which is 3 mins walk from you. Solar lights and torches offer ample lighting should you choose to read a book from the bookshelf or play a game of Scrabble before snuggling up in the comfy double bed for the night. We provide quality bed linen and towels because we aim to offer the 'Glamping' experience with a luxurious and personal touch.More
