Absolutely amazing, very luxurious and loads of special little treats. Can’t fault one thing, everything was perfect. My dog LOVED it, all totally enclosed, and free to roam, we couldn’t get him in, living his best life. Loads of wildlife to watch, if you get the opportunity to go, book it!! You will not be disappointed. Well worth the money for the memories you will live with.

Home away from home in a gorgeous setting
Have been visiting Wester Ross for over 15 years - it really is my happy place. The location and facilities of Shore Croft are second to none. This year was our 3rd visit and we probably couldnt have picked a wetter or windier week but returning to Shore Croft after a day out, putting on the log fire and watching the waves crash over the rocks on the beach was lovely. This is not just a holiday rental but a home away from home with a well equipped kitchen, plenty of logs for the fire, gorgeous toiletries to name just a few. The fabulous enclosed garden for the dogs is just the icing on the cake. We will definitely be booking to return again next year.

A beautiful, quiet and very peaceful location with an amazing double-aspected view of the loch and the far shore. I feel that the photos online perhaps don't do the cottage justice! The house is very comfortable and generously equipped- I struggle to imagine any kitchen utensils that one would want that isn't provided (e.g a full set of Le Cruset sauce/frying pans). The gas range in the kitchen worked wonderfully well.
We are very much looking forward to visiting again in the future; Shore Croft is quite outstanding amongst rental properties that we have visited.
Edit:
Our second visit: The owners evidently keeps the property maintained to their very high standards as paintwork looks brand new, a new shower has been installed in one of their already luxuriously equipped bathrooms- rain shower + hand-held; lovely, effective underfloor heating etc.
We enjoyed using the wood-burner during the wonderfully typical Scottish October weather.

Scotland at it's best
Just WOW!!! We were blown away by the fantastic view as soon as we opened the front door, a stunning place to stay and enjoy the best scenery. Comfort and luxury at it's highest standard, could not fault anything. Already booked for next year, cannot wait to return, well recommended.

Outstanding location and cottage - Shorecroft Mellon Charles
We stayed as an extended family for two weeks in July - older teenage children and two dogs. Holiday home was brilliantly equipped with everything we needed including things we hadn’t even thought of! Location is amazing with direct beach access, a well fenced garden and a lovely deck area outside. We were exceptionally lucky with the weather so had two weeks of scuba diving, kayaking, paddle boarding as well as exploring the local area including the amazing beaches. Evenings were spent eating in the large kitchen diner, outside around the fire pit on the headland or in the lounge watching the sea.
Thoroughly recommend Shorecroft.

Fantastic place
Enjoyed Shorecroft very much. The house is beautiful and the scenery is superb. Saw an otter, some dolphins and seals in the bay. We ate out at the sheiling in Gairloch superb portions and very tasty. Went to the Barn at big sands and Kylesku hotel for dinner. The aroma cafe and perfumery was our walk with cake at the end of it. Went out in the boat at Gairloch and saw lots of birds and occasional seal.

A beautiful house in a perfect location!
This was our second visit to Shore Croft. We love the house, it is set on its own pebble beach - what more do you want?!! The interiors of the house are beautiful. We have visited in the summer and winter months and both were wonderful. We have, of course, booked to go back in 2024! I can’t wait.

Another amazing stay!
What can I say that hasn't already been said in other reviews.
This was our 4th stay at Shorecroft, but our first during the winter. It made no difference. Whatever the weather, Shorecroft continues to provide a warm, relaxing stay.
We were loving it so much we booked our 5th stay while we were there!
I don't really want to hype this place too much, as I'd love it all to myself, but in truth I'm not sure there are many (any?) self catering properties that are better.

Perfect
We spent a week at Shorecroft after a 12 year break. All I can say is that Hilary and Peter have achieved what many holiday home owners cannot....this home is truly a gem that feels as if you are somehow back where you belong. A warm welcome by email, plus a welcome bottle of champagne and some beautiful smoked salmon started the week off on a high. Everything you can think of is there. The kitchen is fabulous. We spent several evenings demonstrating our culinary skills, not once questioning if a particular item was there, the house is so well equipped. The lounge is comfortable and welcoming. The bedrooms stylish and spacious, with comfortable beds and crisp linen.
The location is spectacular and out of the windows are just breathtaking moving pictures.
Every bit of local information is to hand, every attention to detail has been considered.
Aultbea stores are so welcoming and really well stocked. Michelle was engaging and great fun. All staff were friendly.
The walks we took, whilst tuff over rough ground at this time of year were worth it. ( to Slaggan Bay) The scenery is stunning and the people we met were wonderful.
It will not be long before we will go back.
Stunning!

Glorious Shore Croft
Our 7th visit to this amazing cottage. If relaxing in the most glorious peaceful surroundings with superb views across Loch Ewe in a cottage which is beautifully furnished, spacious and comfortable as well as being excellently equipped is your thing then look no further. We cannot recommend Shore Croft highly enough. It’s so good we had problems leaving it each day to visit the many stunning beaches and walks in the area but knowing what we were returning to made it bearable !!! We will be returning again for sure.

As well as easily viewed landscapes of Wester Ross, Gairloch and Aultbea also has some of the most remote and wild (and roadless) land in all of the UK, notably north and west of Loch MareeAside from the impact of the landscape, there is also plenty to see. There are gardens at Attadale near Lochcarron, while Inverewe, north of Gairloch, has been a place of pilgrimage for generations of gardeners who come to wonder at the range of tender species which thrive in the mild climate. The human story of the area is told in museums such as the Smithy Heritage Centre in Lochcarron, the Gairloch Heritage Museum and the Ullapool Museum and Visitor CentreThings to do in the area include (obviously) walking and climbing, with the Torridon Countryside Centre (NTS) or Scottish Natural Heritage's Beinn Eighe Nature reserve visitor centre by Loch Maree as good starting points. Gairloch has a popular golf course and whale-spotting cruises can also be enjoyed here. Angling is widely available throughout the area. Sailing instruction is available on Loch Ewe. There are also leisure centres at Gairloch and Ullapool (including a swimming pool).there are often local markets and Ceildh's in Poolewe which s only a 10 minute drive from the house. Local fresh langostine, crab, lobster, scallops and smoked salmon are all available for delivery right to the door.

Carry on along the coast for another 5 miles and you will come to the small village of Aultbea and then onto Mellon Charles at the head of the loch. The local airport is in Inverness which is 85 miles from Shore CroftA car is essential.
