Holiday Rental House -
2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 4
Wookey, Wells, Somerset, England
½ mile from Wookey, just off the B3139, a newly converted, detached, single-storey cottage behind the owners’ farmhouse. Once a milking parlour, sympathetic use of local materials and the careful preservation of original features have made this a smart holiday home. To the front, enclosed courtyard (seats) with games room (table tennis) and, to the side, a sunny enclosed patio (table/chairs, barbecue) with gate to the owners’ orchard (unfenced watermill leat) which you are welcome to enjoy. Inside, light and bright with high ceilings, exposed beams and latch doors throughout. Fitted kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, fridge, electric cooker) with stable doors to the patio. Comfortable living room with oak floor (rug), full-length windows giving lots of light, woodburner and TV/DVD. Two bedrooms - a double, and a... Read more

Reviewed 29 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Our family of 2 adults and 7 and 11 year old boys had a brilliant time at the Milking Parlour.

The cottage itself is spotlessly clean, bright yet cosy and warm and the owners Pauline and David were very kind and welcoming. We arrived to bread, butter fruit, flowers and wine.

The table tennis table, table football and huge orchard fields were big hits with our boys.

It is a brilliant base to explore the local sights and countryside and there are also two excellent pubs within walking distance of the cottage.

We hope to go back soon!
