Lovely but room for improvement!
Stayed here to celebrate my parent's joint 60th birthdays - we were a party of 7 adults and two children. The house is very big so plenty of space but could do with some improvements here and there. We were slightly disappointed with some of the amenities and the overall finish and cleanliness of the property. There were cobwebs throughout the house, and the kitchen showed signs of wear. There didn't appear to be any oven gloves that we could find, and some of the trays/dishes could do with being replaced to suit the oven better. I also had to re-wash multiple glasses on arrival as these had lipstick marks on them. Some of the bedrooms were lacking in mirrors and some had little to no hanging space. We also noticed a lot of light fittings were broken/unusable or had bulbs replaced that didn't match the rest (some warm and cool lighting). The showers were also not very powerful. Some of the windows didn't open, or were very stiff to open. Gardens are lovely and great for kids to run around. Hot tub was fab, good size. The area is very quiet and it is a short walk down a steep hill into Holmfirth. Good location for exploring.

Amazing Break
We stayed here for three nights, absolutely amazing break. Fantastic house with stunning views. Unfortunately one of our children accidentally smashed a light fitting. We informed the owner Andrew of the accident and on the morning we were leaving he kindly offered to call in and take a look at the damage. Andrew was very understanding and furthermore wouldn’t even allow us to pay for the new light fitting. We had the most amazing time and we will most certainly be returning soon. Thanks again Andrew

The historical city of York is approx 1 hours drive away, and there are many other famous and interesting places to visit making Holmfirth an ideal base to stay in.
