There are hides a few minutes walk from the cottage for those who like to study wildlife in their natural habitat. Being in the foothills of the Cheviots this is an ideal location for those astronomers who study the night sky.

About the neighbourhood
The cottage is set in the dramatic countryside of Northumberland. 2 minute drive to Powburn with retail to meet day to day needs & petrol station. Slightly further are towns of Wooler to the north, Alnwick to the east and the market town of Morpeth. An excellent location for walking cycling and visiting the historic castle of Alnwick alongside the award winning Alnwick Gardens with Tree house restaraunt. Past Alnwick towards the east coast are more castles and miles of golden beaches over looked by the most impessive Bamburgh castle. Holy Island can be access by a causeway, crossing times are well publicised.
Getting around
Walking in the Chevoit hills is a fantastic way to enjoy the cottage. No need to drive just step out the door. 5 minutes walk down a quiet lane you arrive at the river which runs along the beautiful Breamish Valley leading you into the Cheviot Hills. A local garage walking distance from the cottage has a good range of food and drink at very reasonable prices.
