Needing car hire? We can arrange it all for you - For example, If you are flying into France we can arrange for a chauffeur to meet you in the arrivals hall to take you to the station catch the 10.08 train from Paris to arrive at 12.47 - someone will be waiting at the station at this end for you. Or your hotel if you having a few days in Paris before, we can arrange pickups and on your arrival at Carentan station a driver will be waiting for you as you alight the train to take you to your car hire. Do Note though the main car hire companies close for a 2-hour lunch still, even in the major cities and Sunday's are tricky too. We work with a local Renault dealership because they stay open the whole day. Located right opposite the world famous Sainte Marie du Mont Church, the view out the bedroom has been described as one of the best in France... you can lie in bed looking at the ornate and unique bell tower, but do not worry the bells stop during the night! Totally renovated in 2014 while retaining the character and history. Upstairs partitions were knocked out to create the most gloriously proportioned master bedroom, plus a 2nd large double or single along with a large family bathroom room with a substantial Italian walk-in shower, double sink unit plus a loo. Upstairs a further spacious 3rd bedroom with a super king size bed and an ensuite shower room plus glorious views of the Normandy countryside Downstairs we have created an open plan area, you arrive in the lounge with a fireplace where we installed a very efficient wood burner, leading into the dining room and onto the kitchen then out to the very sweet high walled garden with BBQ and patio...also downstairs a utility room with washing machine, tumble drier and a separate loo. The kitchen is very well equipped with an American fridge ice & filtered water, dishwasher plus the Aga who warms the whole house, don't worry I will explain how to use it when you get here, it is very easy, plus there is a gas hob as well. Best of all open the front door, one side you have shellfish shop selling oysters and moules direct from Utah Beach, by just walking the length of the corridor you can return to the dining table with a dozen oysters for less than £5 - fresher than any oysters possible as these come less than 4 miles, people come from miles to but these specialist oysters! The other side, 2 restaurants to choose from, across the street a local butcher, 2 bakers in the village, even a hairdresser… The house is beautifully presented, with restored antique furniture, handmade curtains, even embroidered towels, along with all the things a traveller will appreciate like top quality linen on the beds, big fluffy towels, towelling dressing gowns & hair drier. The cupboards in the kitchen are stocked with oils, stock cubes etc. if my chickens are laying, some freshly laid eggs from our little farm. WIFI throughout, washing machine, tumble drier... English & French TV, DVD player. NOTE we are not set in stone Saturday arrival...it is actually better for you to travel non-weekend & summer months we strongly advise don't come on a Saturday - holiday traffic can be hellish! Any day is good for us EXCEPT a Sunday, please. We are local and live here full time, we are on hand, we can organize car hire, war tours, restaurant bookings - on your arrival we'll give you maps and information on the area, where to go what to see and very useful tips about timings etc. We fully appreciate that a lot of our short stay guests have limited time here, there is a problem once you realize how much there is to see...we are here to help maximize your experience. We have been living locally for the past 16 years, running vacation rentals locally for the past 15 years. Tourist License / Licencia de turismo N °: 05001050-50915-0005More
