If you are looking for a quiet and spacious place away from the noise and crowd of a town you have found the right place. Villa Archon located in a very small and safe traditional settlement just 12 km away from Paleochora, a place with 18 Km of beaches of every kind and for every taste.
Villa Archon is an imposing design building that consists of two independent living units but also functions as a single residence. It is built on a sloping level which results in two independent ground floor apartments with two main entrances connected by an internal staircase.The two different sections of the house are separated from each other by an internal door that can be locked.

We constructed 'Archon' in 2008 for our family relaxation. We paid special attention to the location of the building and respecting the Cretan traditional architecture we carefully used materials such as original stone and old wood combined with narrow openings.
As a result the villa remains relatively cool even in the hot summer months while providing a very decompressing atmosphere.
I am looking forward to welcoming you at the villa and I will be at your disposal during your stay.
I emphasize on great hospitallity.
It makes me really glad to have my visitors happy spending a beautiful time in the Villa and return home really refreshed.

Magnifique séjour dans une maison incroyable !
La maison de Manya est absolument incroyable, pleine de charme et de caractère.
Manya nous a accueilli avec une générosité exceptionnelle. Quelle énergie et quelle gentillesse également. Merci Manya pour ton hospitalité ! La maison est absolument tout confort et Manya avait rempli le frigo en prévision de note arrivée.
Les couchers de soleil depuis la terrasse, les nuits étoilées et la vue sur les montagnes resteront inoubliables. Quel tranquilité !

Ein Traum.
Wir flogen bis Chania. Danach noch eine gute stunde bis Paleochora. Danach ging es über eine gewöhnungsbedürftige Strecke bis zur Archon Villa. Dann offenbarte sich schon von weitem unsere Villa. Wie ein Schloss hob sie sich empor über einem kleinen Dorf. Wir wurden begrüßt, als ob wir schon mal hier gewesen wären. Ich/wir waren ja schon sehr oft in südlichen Ländern aber diese Villa und diese Gastfreundschaft haben wir noch nie so erlebt. Die Abfahrt nach Paleochora ist zwar gewöhnungsbedürftig aber es lohnt sich und man gewöhnt sich daran. Kein Problem.
Die Villa ist kein normales Feriendomizil. Sie ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Man erkennt sofort, dass es nicht nur für Feriengäste eingerichtet ist. Alle Zimmer sind auf dem Standard für 5 Sterne. Wir , meine Freunde und ich, haben noch nie eine so gute Villa gebucht. Wir können nur sagen, dass ist das "Beste" das wir jew gebucht haben.
Herausragend sei zu erwähnen: Die absolut netteste Vermieterin Manja!
Unser Kühlschrank wurde bei der Ankunft an einem Sonntag befüllt; wir wurden über alle Highlights informiert; einfach absolute Spitze. Wir bekamen sogar eine "Kretische Spezialität" serviert.
Meine Reisegruppe hat nur positive Erinnerungen an diese Villa.
Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.
Meine Empfehlung:: Buchen Sie diese Villa und sie werden begeistert sein.

Exquisite Existential Escape ... Perfect!
Drawn to this little corner of Crete for its rugged beauty, wild gorges, great food and immaculate beaches ArchonVilla was our amazing retreat from it all! We were two families traveling together, and what better place to get together and chill than at your own pool nestled on a breezy hill among ancient olive groves ... especially in the region's often scorching heat! Manya'a place was a delight, and herself an exceptional host! The house, a smart interconnected duplex built about 10 years ago, sits right in the hill, with all kinds of terraces, nooks and gardens providing quiet escapes, or ample room for the whole family to sprawl out and share meals enjoying the spectacular vistas. While the tiny village itself has no shops or tavernas, both the villages above and below each have a single taverna with delicious genuine home cooked Cretan cuisine. One special treat ... the spring water in Temenia! Manya also provided tastes of equally scrumptious local treats, olive oil and fruit. And Manya also loves questions, so she always responded immediately to anything we were curious about or any technical questions we had - no matter how trivial these may have been. She gives the house a radiant and happy soul we had a tough time leaving behind!

Super Unterkunft und toller Urlaub

Wir waren Ende April für 2 Wochen auf Kreta und die ArchonVilla hat alle Erwartungen übertroffen. Total sauber unglaublich nette Gastgeberin und traumhaft schön in den Bergen gelegen. Wer eine tolle Unterkunft als Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen in Kombination mit Badetagen sucht und Ruhe, Sauberkeit und Authentizität schätzt, der ist in der Villa Archon bestens aufgehoben.
End of April we stayed for two weeks in Archon Villa and our expectations were exceeded by the extremely friendly host Manya and the superb view of the villa. Archon Villa is great to do some trekking around but at the same time it is just a short ride to Paleochora where you can find some restaurants and a supermarket. The Villa itself is very well located in the middle of some beautiful mountains and has a beautiful garden. You can see and feel, that Manya (the Owner and host) really cares about her guests.

Einzigartig !
Die beste Unterkunft die wir je hatten! Und wir waren schon in vielen.
Die Herzlichkeit von Manya, die Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit ist einzigartig.
Wer nach hektischer Arbeit runter kommen will kommt an der Archon Villa kaum vorbei.
Wer den Trubel nicht braucht ist hier goldrichtig. Danke Manya auch für die Oliven, den Auflauf, das Gemüse, das Obst und Deine Herzlichkeit.

Perfekter Ort zum entspannen und für Tagesausflüge
+ Sehr schön gelegene Villa in einem kleinen Dorf mit nur 7 Einwohnern
+ Sehr abgelegen und sehr schöne Sicht auf die Berge und Landschaft
+ Sehr geräumige und super ausgestattete Unterkunft
+ Sehr viele schöne Sitzgelegenheiten für jede Tageszeit
+ Wohnzimmer im Obergeschoss offen gestaltet und sehr gemütlich
+ Kostenloses Internet
+/- Katzen kommen regelmäßig Abends auf die Terasse
- Pumpe des Jacuzzi entwas laut in den Morgenstunden
- Warmes Wasser nach ein paar Duschgängen schnell aufgebraucht (6 Personen nach Strandbesuch)
- Weg zum nächstgelegenen Strand (Steine) zu Fuß ca. 1,5h entfernt (mit Auto ca. 20-30min)

Fantastic house in a fantastic location
We spent a wonderful week in May in Archon Villa. This is really a fantastic house in a fantastic location. The house is just outside a very small village, Prodromi (with 7 inhabitants of which we have seen maybe 3). It is located on a hilltop overlooking a wild and green valley. You are surrounded by olive groves, nature, lots of sheep. In the night it very quiet and you hear only some owls down in the valley.
We loved the quietness and spent a lot of time on the large terrace, and in the garden behind the house, enjoying the view and solitude. We stayed on the top floor of the house, which has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you are with a larger - or more than one - family there is also an extra appartement downstairs, connected with stairs inside the house.
The house itself is magnificent. Very comfortable, luxurious, clean. Everything you could possible need is there. Good beds, bathrooms, washing machine, tv, satellite internet, great kitchen, airco, etc. The outside areas are great too, a large terrace on the front, and a garden with seating in the shade on the back. The garden has lots of flowers and is well tended, really nice. There is a small jacuzzi in the front garden, great for cooling off when it is warm (the water is not heated, so it was a bit cold in May).
As the house is built by and also used by Manya's own family, it feels like a real 'house', with character and real comfort, not just a holiday rental.
We felt priviliged to stay here, and after an afternoon in busy and touristic Paleochora, we were looking forward for the comfort and solitude of our 'secret hideawy' in the mountains, seen from far below or above when you arrive.
The area is great, you can do fantastic walks in the hills directly behind the house, even walk down all the way to the coast (only for experienced hikers). Paleochora is 20 min. by car on a swinding road down to the coast. On the other side of the mountain the house is on, you can drive down to Sougia, another great and peaceful place by the sea, with a good beach. We spent time on the great beaches on both sides of Paleochora and drove to Elafonisi one day. There is one taverna nearby in Anidri and lots of great places to eat in Paleochora.
Last but not least: the owner, Manya is really nice, caring and welcoming, and genuinly concerned for the wellbeing of her guests. She brought us fresh fruit from her garden, baked us some pies, and had filled the refrigerator so we had something to eat on arrival.
Be sure to ask for the olive oil coming from her own olive trees. We bought 3 liters to take home and it is delicious.
We really recommend this house, and have warm memories. Hopefully we will return another time!

Wunderbare Villa in wilder Landschaft
Archon Villa ist eine stilvoll und luxuriös ausgestattete Unterkunft inmitten von Olivenhainen und Bergen im winzigen Dorf Prodromi. Wanderungen in der unmittelbaren Umgebung wie auch die Strände von Paleochora und Anidri ermöglichen eine vielfältige Urlaubsgestaltung. Eine Vielzahl guter Restaurants, wie die Alte Schule in Anidri sind mit dem Auto gut zu erreichen. Übertroffen wird die Lage und Ausstattung der Archon Villa nur noch von der Herzlichkeit und Gastfreundlichkeit der Eigentümerin Manya, die uns mit den Produkten ihrer Olivenbäume und Weinstöcke verwöhnte und uns die Schönheit ihrer kretischen Heimat näher brachte.
Wir können einen Aufenthalt in der Villa nur uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Amazing Villa - exceptional hospitality
We had an awesome holiday staying in Archon Villa. It is no surprise there are so many 5 star reviews for this place. Its a stylish, fully equipped large villa nestled in peaceful mountains above Paleochora. The villa has all the amenities you would expect in a house rather than a holiday rental. This made our stay very comfortable as home cooking / washing was not problem and the children had beds, toys (a lot), bath, highchair, changing area, etc.
The surrounding area is perfect if you want to get away from it all. Extremely tranquil. You basically share the area with mountain goats, a few sheep and some farmers. There is a great restaurant "The School" in a close by town called Anidri and all other amenities are in Paleochora which is a 20min drive. We spent most of our time in the beaches surrounding Paleochora, some of which you could argue are better than Elafonissi
What really made our stay special was Manya's hospitality. It is truly unique. She is genuinely hospitable, concerned for your comfort and does so in a charming way. She cooked meals for us, made home made truffles, gave little gifts for the kids, provided a great welcome pack with fresh fruit / veges and other products to help us get started. She provided beach towels, completely serviced the place every 4 days and gave great advice throughout our trip
