The drive here was pleasurable as the roads are very well kept, we were able to navigate to the apartment very easily due to good location near the main roads (but far enough away to be very very quiet!). We called our very helpful chalet representative Neil before we arrived and he made us very welcome. The apartment itself is beautifully kept, lovely and open plan with a great balcony and good parking. Our room had a fantastic roof light with a view of the mountains and the balcony has excellent views of Mont Blanc. Only downside was that we weren't walking distance from the lift although we were 10-20 min drive from all main chamonix resorts and we managed to ski in all of them. There is a super market 2 minutes walk away which made it very easy to get food, and the log fire is a nice touch. Would definitely recommend!

The fantastic mountain views made this a great stay for us! The apartment was very cosy, individual and homely, with lots of nice touches. It is well equipped for a holiday let, especially the kitchen and there were plenty of games and DVD films to watch. It's location at the quieter end of Les Houches is nice and only a 2 minute walk from the local bus stop and supermarket. We had a hire car so found the underground heated garage great ! No de-icing! We easily located a few good restaurants within a 10 minute walk and of course loved the variety of skiing in the valley. We were just two people, but with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, it would make a great base for a family holiday.

About the neighbourhood
Les Houches sits at 1000m above sea level and is the first big alpine settlement you’ll come to in the valley. It is a great family resort offering a wide range of summer outdoor sports and is quickly becoming a haven for mountain bikers. In the winter it is the perfect choice for a family holiday with the ski resort geared towards beginner and intermediate skiing. Les Houches has its own lift system for skiing, hiking and mountain biking. The village is also the starting point for many attempts to climb Mont Blanc.

FREE regular bus & train services running every day through the valley of Chamonix. The local buses that run through & around the outskirts of Chamonix town are eco-friendly electric, other bus & train services take you further: Les Houches, Servoz, Les Praz, Argentiere & even Vallocine which boarders Switzerland. Ask our team for free passes!

Other services include: Bus service through Mont Blanc Tunnel to Courmayeur. Private taxis run to other major resorts & of course transfers from Geneva Airport. The lifts & tele-cabines in the valley takes you to fantastic hiking & climbing trails around Mont Blanc, including the highest lift in Europe, Aiguille du Midi & the Montenvers train takes you to Mer de Glace, Chamonix's famous glacier.

How to get there
Airport: Geneva: 80.0 km
Railway: St. Gervais, La Fayet: 15.0 km
Ferry: Calais: 900.0 km
FLY: Our recommendation is that you fly to Geneva airport it is only 50 miles(80km) to Chamonix and takes little more than an hour. You may choose to hire a car or arrange a transfer. There are many transfer providers, we work with the best & most reliable & are very happy to help arrange transfers directly from the airport to the apartment for you.

TRAIN or BUS: You may choose to travel by train or public bus from the airport. Although this is cheaper, it does not save you much money, the journey takes much longer and you still have to find your own way to the property once you reach Chamonix.

DRIVING: If driving, then from Calais the journey is around 560 miles (900km) and with minimal breaks the good motorways will see you in approx. 9 hours.
