Fantastic views from this elevated ground floor apartment with a garden that opens up onto the mountain meadows and looks out over the whole of Les Houches. You really do get a sense of `being in the mountains` even though you are close to all amenities. Kids can toboggan happily in complete security whilst you enjoy a well-earned glass of wine in true peace and tranquillity. The sunsets are amazing!

About the neighbourhood
Chamonix is best known for its extreme skiing, climbing, high mountain hiking and mountain biking. This busy alpine village is extremely popular in the winter and summer seasons with tourists clambering for a glimpse of Mont Blanc. CHAMONIX: Chamonix has all the facilities of a town; with a great variety of shops, restaurants and bars, cinema, museums, sports centre, ice-skating, tennis, squash, swimming pools and a very good 18 hole golf course.

There are fabulous walking and running trails all over the valley, some are world famous and every year Chamonix hosts the ultimate 'Ultra Trail' covering over 154km in August. For hikers this trail is known as Le Tour du Mont Blanc (5+ day walking trip).

The local buses that run through & around the outskirts of Chamonix town are eco-friendly electric, other bus & train services take you further: Les Houches, Servoz, Les Praz, Argentiere & even Vallocine which boarders Switzerland. Ask our team for free passes!

Other services include: Bus service through Mont Blanc Tunnel to Courmayeur. Private taxis run to other major resorts & of course transfers from Geneva Airport. The lifts & tele-cabines in the valley takes you to fantastic hiking & climbing trails around Mont Blanc, including the highest lift in Europe, Aiguille du Midi & the Montenvers train takes you to Mer de Glace, Chamonix's famous glacier.

How to get there
Airport: Geneva: 80.0 km
Railway: Les Houches: 5.0 km
Ferry: Calais: 900.0 km
FLY: Our recommendation is that you fly to Geneva airport it is only 50 miles (80km) to Chamonix and takes little more than an hour. You may choose to hire a car or arrange a transfer. There are many transfer providers, we work with the best & most reliable & are very happy to help arrange transfers directly from the airport to the apartment for you.

TRAIN or BUS: You may choose to travel by train or public bus from the airport. Although this is cheaper, it does not save you much money, the journey takes much longer and you still have to find your own way to the property once you reach Chamonix.

DRIVING: If driving, then from Calais the journey is around 560 miles (900km) and with minimal breaks the good motorways will see you in approx. 9 hours.
