Cosy cottage in a privileged location.
Nice views even from inside.
The house was built in 2000 and is placed on a hill of 10,000 m2. In a natural and peaceful environment.
A private path leads directly to the house with plenty of parking.
The architecture is unpretentious but offers all the comforts of a modern home in a pleasant atmosphere.
All units are spacious and bright.
The distribution on one level is very functional and the views are spectacular even from inside.
The entrance porch leads directly to the living room, where there are two double sofas, air conditioning, office desk, WIFI, satellite TV, DVD, etc.
The living room leads to the kitchen or bedrooms and two large windows leads to the terraces.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a table for six, microwave, oven, etc. It also has an open fireplace and many windows.

Sitting on the patio in the evenings, looking over the hills and the town on the plain below, is paradise. This is one of the most relaxing places we ever stayed at.
Miguel, the owner, lives just down the hill, some 100 meters from the house, but he takes care to respect each other's privacy: "You don't see me, I don't see you." On the other hand, we could call him on the cell phone with any issues and he was happy to come directly to change the propane bottle in the utility room, drive the recycable trash to the recycling station or just give some advice on what to do and what to see. He is very friendly, open, and helpful.
There are two other neighbours, but both so far away and additionally separated by trees, stonewalls, etc., that we hardly, if ever, heard or saw anything of them.
WiFi worked fine, and the TV did, too, but we preferred to sit on the patio and drink Mezclades instead.
The village is a 5-minute drive or a 30-minute walk down the hill...

This property is located on a gentle hill just North of Porreres, which is a traditional small town with narrow streets around 40 minutes drive from the coast. The house is situated in a couple of acres of land (mainly stony soil) in a rural area and therefore you do feel very much that you have the place to yourselves. There's a decent supermarket in Porreres around 5 minutes drive away (my UK credit card worked fine there).
Miguel the owner lives on adjacent land and was very welcoming and available to answer any queries.
The interior of the house was plenty big enough for the four of us (2 adults, and 2 boys aged 4 & 6). The boys also liked exploring outside looking for lizards and small spiders. There's plenty of sit-out room on the patio and also sun loungers. I was itching to get either the wood burner or open fire lit (loads of free wood available), but the weather was just too hot (in April!).
The facilities are good and modern, the wifi really came in handy...

The area of Porreres preserves the authentic Majorca way of life, far from tourist centers. There is a weekly market every Tuesday. The Sanctuary of Montesion is an obligated visit as well is the prehistoric village of Son Fornes in Montuiri.
