A lovely cosy cottage with modern amenities in a perfect location. The cottage was clean and well maintained. There were many extra touches that made the holiday especially nice. The beds were comfy and the water for the shower was always nice and hot. Ketton...More

About the neighbourhood
The area is predominantly Georgian and Victorian. Much of the local architecture was built using Ketton Stone and Collyweston Slate.

In Ketton there's a local shop and post office, church, children's playground, library and two pubs (one of which serves food). The river Chater runs through the village.

The nearest town is Stamford, four miles from the cottage. It's predominantly Georgian, although some parts date back to the middle ages. Today it's known for it's fantastic mix of independent shops, restaurants, cafes, bars and gastro-pubs. The river Welland runs through the middle, alongside the meadow. Burghley House sits on the edge of the town.

Rutland Water is approximately 7 miles from the cottage.
Getting around
We'd recommend all visitors have access to a car during their stay. There's a car-hire company in Stamford, should you decide not to drive. Alternatively there are a number of taxi companies operating in the area. A one-way journey between the cottage and Stamford costs around £10.

There's also a limited bus service in the village.
