Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Amazing
Beautiful property, very clean. Tracey is lovely as well and greeted us upon arrival with some milk in the fridge, tea and coffee. Nice local pub which serves lovely food and a local shop. St. Margaret’s bay not too far away, if you have small children I recommend driving as the paths are narrow and bendy. Dover, Deal and Folkestone a short car journey away which all have lovely sites. Really lovely stay, very quite village. Feeling very relaxed after a lovely break. Will be looking at rebooking again.

Delightful cottage
We have just returned from a 4 night stay in Groves Cottage. We were met by Tracey who was lovely. The place is spotlessly clean and warm, needed as the evenings turned cool. The living area is small but overall it is beautiful and has been very thoughtfully renovated. I particularly loved the proper cottage garden and could have spent my days there happily pottering in it. Could i suggest an option of some garden chairs or a bench seat (as a different choice to the present table etc) on the grass area or maybe in front of the house might be appreciated for those of us less agile but still enjoying life oldies please. 😊 I recognise that the steps throughout the cottage are mentioned in the write up but my husband (who has some mobility issues) struggled with the inside seating and getting showered. Both bathrooms (as is the whole cottage) are beautifully appointed but the shower cubicle is small and the other is over the bath making access for him difficult. Hence my 4 stars. However I recognise that this is really our problem and won't affect most people. It's a lovey place to stay. Very well appointed, clean, beautiful setting on a very pretty back lane. I just wonder if maybe something extra in the write up re mobility/ access might be worth considering... thank you Tracey we've had a great week, I'd happily live there and spend hours in the garden.

Thank you for your kind review. I do understand that you obviously have specific mobility issues and I sympathise. I am always happy to answer questions regarding guests concerns prior to booking and I have welcomed many older guests over the years with no issue. It is difficult to cover everything in the write up but it is highlighted that the property will not suit everyone with the small steps throughout. Chairs within the lounge do have arms. The decking area is the only flat area in the garden for seating and it has to be suitable to be out in all weather conditions. We will give further consideration to your comments to see whether improvements can be made.

Really lovely, comfortable cottage
The perfect place for four friends to spend a few days holiday in Kent. Every comfort we could want and more. Spotlessly clean and carefully maintained to make a safe environment during the pandemic. Warm and comfortable despite the high winds outside. Many thanks

Lovely Homely Cottage
This lovely little cottage is a perfect place to stay if you want to explore the Kent countryside. The cottage is very homely and has everything you could ever need for self catering accomodation, two spacious bedrooms, one double and a twin room, each with their own en-suite bathrooms. Wifi internet is also a very useful facility provided for guests. We explored Dover castle, Deal, Folkestone and the beautiful cliff tops at St. Margarets at Cliffe. Also a lovey place to eat is The Smugglers pub, just round the corner from the cottage, great food in a lovely country pub atomsphere. All in all, a perfect countryside get-away break.
