Dolwen: quiet, characterful, all ground floor, self-catering bungalow 3 Bedrooms, 2 bathrooms accommodation, detached cottage near the market town of Rhayader at the start of the Wye Valley.. Dolwen's spacious kitchen with nice views over the farm, is fully equipped and has a seperate dining table for 6. Large utility equipped with washing machine and dishwasher. The lounge with its widescreen TV, range of games, extensive selection of books, piano, character fireplace, leads onto the sunroom and patio. The main bathroom is equipped with grabrails and ensuite with electronic shower.. The path leads straight to Dolwen with no steps. Dolwen's garden is alive with birdlife visiting the pond. Grounds are sheltered and enclosed with parking on property. Dolwen was a lovely place to stop at will be returning a lovely wildlife garden to sit in elan valley was lovely we had great weather Del made us very welcome

The Dolwen cottage was in a very little hamlet and was extremely quiet, the loudest sound was the sparrows quarrelling. There were house martins nesting in the garage and they swooped in and out regularly. The house was all on one floor so was a...More

Nearby is the Elan Valley Reservoir Visitor Centre - a must for walkers and sightseers and cyclists will enjoy the scenic cycle track which runs from Rhayader to the dams - bikes can be hired in Rhayader. The Red Kite Visitor Centre close by is also a must. These beautiful birds of prey are fed daily here - a truly memorable display. Llandrindod Wells is a short drive – a charming spa town which has an open air market, small individual shops, hosts the world famous Victorian Festival at the end of August, the National Cycle Museum, with weird and wonderful bicycles.
