The cottage is nestled within some beautiful scenery with miles upon miles of wonderful walks. It is part of a thriving local community consisting of the villages of Graianrhyd, Eryrys & Llanarmon-yn-Ial. Each of the 3 villages has a local Pub. The nearest village, Graianrhyd, has the Rose & Crown, just a 10 min walk from the cottage, which serves wonderful real ales along with home cooked delicious food which can be eaten in front of a roaring fire!. The village of Eryrys is about a 25 min walk (3 min drive) and has the Sun Inn – a friendly pub offering some great food along with a cosy wood burning stove. Finally, a little further away (30 min walk / 5 min drive) is Llanarmon yn Ial which has the community run Raven Inn along with the community run shop.

The nearest bus stop is outside the Rose & Crown pub, a 10 min walk away where you can get regular buses to Ruthin, Mold, Chester and Wrexham.

We had a really good time in this beautiful cottage for 2 days. Lovely big garden, clean and spacious house, peaceful place, some chickens at the back, firefits, what else could you ask for. I highly recommend.

Lovely cottage in perfect location
The cottage is in a very scenic location. The views are stunning and the cottage is excellent. The hens with their eggs are a big plus :-). I would definitely recommend this place for a family.

Family Break
Great place for the family to all meet and stay together under one roof. Log burners and total comfort. Games and books. All you need in a home from home! Added bonus being fresh eggs! We LOVE this place. Pub not too far away and nice and friendly too.

Lovely family weekend
We had a lovely weekend at Llys Onnen. 4 adults and 4 children aged 8,7,4 and 4.
The kids LOVED feeding the chickens their morning porridge and playing hide and seek and other games in the gardens. Lots of space for 8 people. Table sat all of us for dinner comfortably. Kitchen has everything you need. The owners were communicative and left us lovely fresh home made bread and some milk and butter. We brought logs and lit the wood burner though there are logs on site you can buy. Beautiful countryside setting - had a lovely walk and a run locally.
My only recommendation would be to warn everyone to bring slippers as the stone floors in the hall and kitchen in January were chilly!

Girls Weekend
We are a group of 10 girls who went to school together in the 1980s. 7 of us stayed this weekend at Llys Onnen Holiday Cottage which is set in beautiful countryside so close to all major road routes. We came together from as far as Scotland, London, and even New Zealand. This cottage was the perfect location for us to dance to 80s tunes, drink cocktails and laugh, and laugh. The cottage is spacious, comfortable, immaculately clean and the kitchen is very well equipped. We only ventured out to explore the countryside via public footpaths over the fields and little lanes. Best part for me was feeding the chickens and ducks and collecting their eggs for our breakfast. Kevin and Carolyn were perfect hosts, leaving us to our own devices but ensuring we had everything we needed, even some delicious home baked bread. Can't recommend this highly enough. We had an amazing time, thank you.

Beautiful retreat in great location to explore North Wales and the coast.
This was a last minute find and probably one of the best finds.
We had family over from Japan and wanted to go away for a few nights in Wales.
We luckily found this idyllic cottage around 30 minutes away from Chester, 30 minutes away from the north coast line and 1 hour away from Conway.
the setting is amazing, you are up a lane sett
off from the road with undisrupted views for miles.
when you arrive the host Kevin was their to meet us who was very friendly and helpful, he had freshly picked eggs (from the chicken and ducks in the garden), fresh bread, milk and butter all waiting in the kitchen.
The cottage is well stocked and has everything you need to cook meals all you need is the food. Very clean inside and outside has a lovely garden which in better weather I can imaging been amazing to sit out in.
The bedrooms are all good sizes, the bunk beds are linked to one of t he e doubles +but great for kids). The main bathroom has a double shower with the ensuit having the bath.
This is an lovely cottage and a great place to stay. We will definitely be back but will be for longer next time as 2 nights was too short and will be recommending to friends and family.

Weekend visit to North Wales
We were celebrating our eldest 18th and had planned a short break whitewater rafting and climbing in the nearby Llangollen.
This was the perfect spot, 20 mins drive from Llangollen In the beautiful Welsh countryside. The locals were incredibly friendly and the Landlord of the Rose and Crown made us some take away dinners at an incredibly reasonable rate.
House was clean and well equipped, my ten year old daughter loved feeding the chickens and collecting the eggs.
Wished we could have stayed longer.

Great stay for birthday celebrations
We had a brilliant time at Llys Onnen to celebrate my dad's 60th. Plenty of space for the guests and lovely cosy rooms, not to forget the wood burner in the living room that kept us nice and toasty! Lovely to see the chickens and ducks as well, and the alpacas down the road came to say hello as we walked past. All in all, a great location in a rural setting for a getaway - suitable for lots of different occasions and group sizes. We will certainly be returning soon!

Great family stay
We stayed at the cottage monday-friday my family and I had a great time,our children loved feeding the chickens collecting eggs and seeing the cows in the next field,if anyone after nice relaxing peaceful family stay,away from busy town this cottage is for you. We'll be coming back again the the future

The farmhouse is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and we are spoilt with some spectacular scenery. There are many walks from the house itself and the local pub, which you will find VERY welcoming, is just a 9 minute walk away.
