It's a 3-story separate house close to the main road. There's a backyard with a lawn and the property is 1500 m2. The house is build in 1952 and has been improved lately. Right across the road there's a grocery/electronic shop. A fjord close by on one side and mountains very close by on the other side.

Interaction with guests:
As we live in the house daily, we are not able to rent out very often and when we do, it's when we go on a holiday.
I will have a very good friend, who lives here in the village, to be a go-to man whenever help is needed by the guests.
A good interaction before guests arrive will be very helpful for us all.
What do you want to do while here? Do you need information of activities in the area? Do you come by car or will you rent? Interests; mountain hiking, whale-safari, fishing, bicycle-rides, etc.

About the neighbourhood
The village of Åse is small, just 300 population. It's a 5-15 minute walking distance to the mountains and the fjord.
Just across the road from the house there's a grocery/electronics shop. 1 km to the south there's a garage/gas station.
The center of the municipality is Andenes, located 40 km to the north. There one can find more shops, like several supermarkets, Europris, bakery, pharmacy, gas station, clothing stores, flower store, liquor Store.
There's also 2-3 hotels and tourist information as well as restaurants. From Andenes one can go on whale safari (pre-order) or whale museum. In the area there's also a lighthouse which is a landmark. Other activities on the island include seal safari and kayak.
More info on request.
Because public transportation is not very good, it's necessary to have a car to get around the island and to the surrounding area like to the Lofoten islands.
10 km. south of Åse, there is a village called Risøyhamn. There the Coastal Express (Hurtigruten) make a 15-minutes stop. Hurtigruten sail daily between Bergen in the south-west and Kirkenes in the north-east. One can also bring a car on the ship, but it's safest to order in advance.
How to get there
Airport: Andøya Airport (ANX): 40.0 km
Ferry: Risøyhamn: 10.0 km
If you come by air, there's a direct flight from Oslo Airport (Gardermoen) to Harstad/Narvik Airport (Evenes). Going this route, you either rent a car at the airport or jump on a bus which stands just outside the terminal. The bus must be labelled (in the front) as going to Sortland, which is the end station for this bus. In Sortland you change bus and take the one labelled Andenes. But you don't go all the way to Andenes. You must stop at the village Åse which is about 60 kilometres from Sortland. The easiest is to ask the bus driver to stop at the grocery shop, Åse servicesenter. Also on the sign of the shop it says Matkroken and Euronics.
