Dormston is a delightful hamlet set in the heart of the gently rolling Worcestershire countryside not far from the border with Warwickshire and laying between the Cathedral City of Worcester and Shakespeare's Stratford on Avon. The nearby village of Inkberrow is said to be the inspiration for Ambridge in the long running radio classic “The Archers”, along with its pub also “”The Bull”, and where “Archers” memorabilia photos adorn the walls and show Moat Farm with cast members outside being used as a backdrop to depict Brookfield Farm. Dovecote Barn is a recently converted dwelling finished to a very high standard and beautifully situated in the 13 acres of pasture and gardens surrounding Moat Farm a remarkable grade 2* listed moated farmhouse dating from the 16th century and of considerable architectural and historic interest. The barn is blessed with delightful aspects overlooking the farmhouse and next to a 16th century Dovecote. The barn is equipped to a very high level with good quality beds and bedding, a full complement of crockery, utensils and appliances, and quality entertainment systems. To the South West and also just over 30 minutes away is the famous Georgian spa town of Cheltenham with its many restaurants, and fine shopping and its wonderful race course. To the west and 20 minutes away is the famous city of Worcester with its celebrated cathedral on the banks of the River Severn. Beyond Worcester are the majestic Malvern Hills and the town of Malvern famous for its water and fine views. Further west the hop fields of the Teme Valley, and to the North West, the gastronomic centre that is Ludlow with its choice of Michelin starred Restaurants. Around 30 miles to the north, is the UK's second city Birmingham, with its Symphony Hall, fine shopping, wealth of restaurants, home of the Balti, and its many canals, the NEC and many other attractions. To the North West are the historic town of Warwick with its majestic Castle, and another fins spa town in Leamington. Finally to the west and around 25 minutes away is Stratford on Avon with its many attractions and of course the Royal Shakespeare TheatreDovecote Barn is the ideal base for enthusiastic walkers (surrounded by a dense network of footpaths); families who want to explore the countryside and the many nearby day visit attractions, and is an ideal base for visitors to the NEC at Birmingham, The Royal Shakespeare Theatre at Stratford, of the world class Horse racing at Cheltenham.
