Holiday Rental House
Situated in a pedestrian precinct in the centre of town, the house has three floors and a terrace (with barbecue and a fountain) from where you can enjoy breathtaking views over the historical area and the surrounding countryside. The area is infused with Etruscan and medieval history, which will provide the magical backdrop and add flavor to your holiday. On the ground floor is a living area with table, sofa, a TV and a well equipped kitchen (with dishwasher), as well as a small bathroom (no shower) and a washing machine. The living room and kitchen are separated by an archway, under which you can eat at a built-in table with stools. On the third floor is a large panoramic terrace with a barbecue, fountain, lighting and electrical fittings for a satellite TV. The house is centrally heated and also has an air-conditioning system. Guests will have the whole house to themselves. Tuscania is situated on the right bank of the river Marta and is just an hour from Rome and a few kilometers from Tuscany. It is a major Etruscan site whose medieval quarter is teeming with characteristic sites around every corner, such as churches, towers and walls with Ghibelline battlements and wonderful panoramas. You cannot fail to be enchanted, but if you have limited time the ten things not to miss are: 1) THE BASILICA OF ST. PETER 2) THE CHURCH OF SANTA MARIA MAGGIORE 3) THE ‘TORRE DI LIVELLO’ PARK 4) THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM 5) THE SETTE CANNELLE FOUNTAIN 6) LA VIA CLODIA 7) THE ETRUSCAN NECROPOLI 8) VIA DEGLI ARCHI AND LARGO BELVEDERE 9) PIAZZA BASILE 10) THE SAN GIUSTO ABBEY If you wish to visit Rome, Tuscania is only about an hour from the eternal city, but the whole area is worth seeing, so make sure you enjoy and savour these wonderful landscapes and picturesque villages. First of all, there’s the historical town of Viterbo, which was also once the official seat of Popes and houses important monuments and prestigious works of art in the historical quarter of town. The feast day for Saint Rosa, the patron saint of Viterbo, is well worth seeing. It takes place in the first week of September, when a huge illuminated tower, 30 meters long and weighing 5 tonnes, is paraded along the streets of the town centre. Then there’s the reinvigorating water of the Papal thermal spa; or only an hour’s drive away you can get to the splendid Saturnia thermal spa in the Maremma area of Tuscany. Other trips worth doing in the area surrounding Tuscania include: CIVITA DI BAGNREGIO, a UNESCO world heritage site; BOMARZO, where there is a ‘Monster Park’, monuments of monstrous creatures and giant statues commissioned in 1552 by Prince Orsini. LAGO DI BOLSENA, where you can take boat rips and visit the villages of Capodimonte or Marta, on the lakeside. Also, only 85km away (45 minutes by car) you can get to ‘mare dell’ARGENTARIO’ in Tuscany, where you can visit the fabulous seaside villages of ORBETELLO, PORTO ERCOLE and PORTO SANTO STEFANO from where you can reach the splendid islands of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park called ISOLA DEL GIGLIO and GIANNUTRI.More

A lovely house with everything we need. Beautiful views from the terrace. Tuscania is a nice peaceful place with lots of places to sit and take in its historic buildings. It’s a perfect base to explore the surrounding area.
