About the neighbourhood
Penygroes is a lovely little village as I have said before in and around Penygroes you will find a cycle path, a slate work shop where you can watch the men work the slats. There are horse riding stables. There is also a small airport with a museum and a restaurant. Also the Electric Mountain. Trampolines in caves. It is perfect for people who like to go hiking along the mountain paths. You can hire a cycle and ride along the coast line on the cycle path. There is an aviation museum where you can book a flight.
Getting around
You will need a car but you could travel by bus. Cycle along the cycle path and take in the sights that way, or go hiking along the mountain paths and take in the views that way. There is horse riding to, but I think the best is going through Snowdonia on the steam train.
